Cleaning Mesh Straps

How do I clean the mesh straps on the high chair? There is food imbedded in them and I can't get it out. I've scrubbed with a clorox wipe so I hope it's not germy - but it's still gross and I want to get the food out of there!!

What can I do next?

If they don't come off, try scrubbing them with a little oxiclean and water. Let it set or soak. Oxiclean gets organic matter off pretty well.

I use a product called Tough & Tender, which is great for all types of jobs. It lifts the dirt and grime. Then, I'd scrub the mesh with a brush to be sure I had gotten into the crevices. I use an EPA approved botanical disinfectant for germ-killing, as I choose not to use toxic products anywhere in my home. I'm not judging your use of Clorox wipes, just hoping to make others aware that there are safe & effective products out there!

When we had to clean gross car seat straps, another mother suggested using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser ... worked like a charm! No more grossness!

Detach them from the chair, soak in soapy water (dish soap) and scrub with a brush.

I usually remove mine and throw them in the washer with a load of whites and bleach them (our straps are white)

put them in washer just air dry. in the back where its coming from the hole its usually just folded over so bend it flat and shove it through the hole. as a note of caution though it's best not to put car seat straps in the washer because it can take off the fire retardent spray that was put on them.
