Help.... I can not get this white film off of my glass shower doors. I've used various products... Scrubbing Bubbles, Ajax, Mr. Clean... It still will not come off.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi K.,
I hate having this problem too! I don't know of any good remedies, however, once you get it clean you should squeegee (sp) the door before getting out. It's not that much work and only takes a few seconds. It will eliminate getting the hard water stains that you spend hours trying to get rid of. I had the same problem at a house I used to live at until my neighbor enlightened me. I just leave the squeegee in the shower and run it over before getting out each time. I have even trained my husband to do it as well! I would definatly try the Mr. Clean eraser to remove the stains. I have heard wonders about those things.
Good Luck,
K.

I use the Mr. Clean magic eraser and CLR. It works great! The magic eraser really gets ride of the soap scum and the CLR gets rid of any hard water stains. This works great on my glass doors! (Just use 1 at a time and rinse in between!)

I found this waterless car wash product and it recommends to be used on showers, glass mirrors and windshields. It will keep your mirror from fogging up while taking a shower and the windshield does not ice up as well during winter months. I will have to look at the brand name but this works for me. The soap scum does not stick to the shower.

You probably have hard water deposits. Try CLR or LimeAway. Both work great. Our water is pretty hard down here, so a pretty common problem.

Have you tried Lime Away? It worked for me along with a splatic scrubber and lots of elbow grease. My secret to keeping the door clean now, everytime I shower, I wipe down the door to remove the water spots. My door has been clear for a long, long time and it only takes a minute to do.

This can get a bit messy, but I think worth it. Make sure your bathroom is well vented; Spray inside of shower doors with WD40. Let it set for about 20-30 mn. I use to use a bucket of warm water & dish detg, now I mist with 409 & rinse off. The WD40 will leave a very light film to repel water.

Hi, K.. I come from a small town in West Texas and grew up with this reoccuring problem. I was suprised to see that I still face this problem in Sugar Land, however, the ONLY thing that will get the hard water deposits off of glass is a little bit of elbow grease and a VERY fine steel wool. I buy this at Home Depot/Lowes and it is very inexpensive. I simply use a small circular motion, careful not to put too much pressure, and use the steel wool along with my favorite cleaner...Clorox Clean-up. If you continue this regimen every two weeks or so, you won't have the annoyance of this reoccurning problem. I hope this helps.
