Cleaning Glass-top Stove

What is the easiest way to clean a glass-top stove and make it look brand new.
I have the "lotion" that came with it, but without a ton of elbow grease, it is not
easy or fast. Any tips would be wonderful. Thanks.

I have a white glass top stove by Kitchen Aid that I love. It is 3 yrs old and still looks brand new.

I clean it EVERY time I use it. I do use the CeramaBryte from Home Depot but I also use the little yellow scrubbies that are in the same location as the lotion.

I NEVER use razor blades and they are sold in a kit with the cleaners but no way would I do that. It is too easy to clean it with the lotion and scrubbies. The trick is you clean it EVERY time you use it. Don't wait around and just do it every other day, every week or something like that.

The yellow scrubbies are wonderful. They will get everything off, leave no scratches and it looks brand new.

I have used these scrubbies on my white corning ware that has hard to remove baked on stains and even in the shower on soap scum. I keep extra packs of them on hand... LOVE them and they are less that $5

A razor blade is the key. The cleaner intended for the glass stove and the razor usually come as a 'kit'. Sold at Lowes/Home Depot and I'm sure other places. But the razor tool is the key.
ETA: It's all about the angle of the razor, I wouldn't suggest using one free-hand, you COULD scratch the glass.

ok - I'm going to try the razor blades. I read on pinterest that if you sprinkle baking soda on, then cover it with a wet towel (wet it with warm soapy water) let it sit for 30 minutes and then wipe up. I tried it and it worked with the exception of the baked on parts, but I've had my stove for 5 years, since we bought our house, and never gotten it to the clean beginning.

razor blade...it's amazing. I kinda held my breathe the first time I used it, but now it's my go-to tool!

Mine came with our cooktop & I've bought a replacement at Lowes.

Whoa, I've never seen a cleaning kit that came with a razor blade! I'd be very concerned that I'd scratch the glass and that could lead to cracking of the surface -- in other words, I would think that scratches would be more than a cosmetic problem.

I take a very wet paper towel and lay it over caked-on goop for a while. I come back later and wipe up the goop, then use the cream cleaner. Yes, the cream cleaner does take some elbow grease but it's worth it. I would never go back to regular stovetops with all those nasty nooks and crannies to clean out.

I'm going to try baking soda too, in addition to the wet paper towel I already use.

we use a razor/scraper and get all the thick off. Then we use a glass cooktop cleaner that you get in any store. Good luck

According to my owners manual, you need to clean the cook top with a glass scraper while it is still hot. Now, I have never done this in the 6 years that I have owned this appliance. I just use the cook top cleaner and elbow grease with a cooktop cleaning pad.

I DO want to get one of those scraper things, I just have not done it yet.

Razor blade works well. I hated cleaning mine and went back to the old fashion coils when I had to replace it.
