Cleaning an Evenflo Triumph Carseat BASE?
Hi Moms,
So kiddo wet his pants in the carseat today - his fleece sweats wicked nothing, nor did the carseat cover (now in the wash), but when I tipped the carseat forward to see where the puddle could have gone, it spilled out onto the floor. Lovely. The seat is firmly attached to the base - how do I get "in there" to clean out the urine? I've doused it Nature's Miracle for lack of a better idea - I figure I'll tip THAT forward in an hour to spill the contents and let it air-dry. My husband wants to submerge the whole thing in the tub.
Any suggestions?

This has happened to us, more than once :(. I simply put the carseat on the back porch and used a cup to control where I poured the water, but I still doused it down pretty good. Then I set it out in the sun. Fresh air and sunlight seem to help air out many things. After one afternoon it was better. To help with that issue while potty training, I cut down some old waterproof lap pads to fit over the bottom of the seat. Usually, I still had to wash the cover, occasionally I got lucky. Either way, it controlled the mess better until my kids were completely potty trained.

I agree with your method. Dousing the surface will wash away the urine. You might want to put a rinse thru it afterward. I don't know if Nature's Miracle has an odor.
Wouldn't putting it in the tub do the same thing but you'd have to deal with the wet padding. Both run water thru the base. And I don't know how securely it's attached. It could come loose. There would be more of a chance of mildew.
If you put water in the tub just to the level of the base it would work. Perhaps that could be a compromise. Carefully swish just the base in a small amount of water.

I would think natures miracle would help. Go out and buy a carseat protector pad so you can avoid having to do this again. Good luck!

Whole seat to the carwash. It works very well, is usually dry the next day if it's taken care of during the night, like put in a warm house if it's cold out or if its very hot outside it's turned different directions every little bit...that's what we do now. It works very well
