I'd use a green cleaner, myself. Something safe- definitely NOT Lysol, like Mrs. Meyers, or Shaklee's Basic H2. Your child will sleep there, have their nose right ON it, and be inhaling that Lysol for months to come. There's a reason there are so many warnings on the label...

I wouldn't worry about germs so much, as long as you get all the surface stuff cleaned off, and get it vacuumed out well. It will be clean. ;)

Vacuum the pack and play to remove any crumbs from it. Remove the pad from the bottom of the pack and play and then vacuum again to clean the pack and play.

Fill a bucket half way with warm water, add 2 squirts of dish soap.

Wipe down the front and back of the pad of the pack and play with the warm soapy water to clean it.
allow it to dry i just take it out for about 1 hour

and spray lysol in all the pack and play every two days

also i don't allow my kids to eat in it

I have one of those Bissel Clean machine spot cleaners and I use that if my son has leaked though to the mattress of the pack and play. I squirt the mild cleaning solution all over it with the nozzle sprayer then suck it up with the hose and let it outside to air dry completely in the sun. I also use waterproof lap pads under the pack and play sheet so as to avoid having to do this each time it gets soiled, that way I can just throw those pads in the wash instead of cleaning the whole mattress. Hope this helps!

I clean all my stuff that the kids come in contact with Melaleuca products. They are a natural green product and is not harmful to any of my kids. I mostly us the Sol-U-Mel watered down. I would stay away from any products that have strong cleaning agents. They will be inhaling these products.

I vaccuum it out, then wipe it down with antibacterial wipes and let it dry. Then I wipe it down with baby wipes to get any antibacterial residue off.

I now have a steam cleaner but before I would use a carpet and upholstry spray to spot clean and then blowdry it so it wouldn't get moldy.

I would mix up some Tide laundry soap in a bucket and hand scrub - rinse and then let dry. For my daughter's pack and play - I made a cover for the mattress. Basically I bought some cute, soft jersey material, folded it in 1/2 and made what looked like a big pillow case just big enough to fit the mattress. It was very easy to slip on and off and just toss in the wash. Good luck!
