Cleaning a Leather Sofa
My lovely 2 yr old daughter found a black sharpie marker and decided to color on my leather sofa. How do I get this cleaned off without ruining my leather sofa?

Try using a cloth sprayed with everyday, typical hairspray. I have used it and it worked great.

I used to work in a laboratory and we used 100% alcohol to remove permanent marker and it works every time. If you don't have have 100% alcohol go buy some 200 proof alcohol. Good luck!

Hey There!
I have a leather couch, and baby wipes worked well. If not try WD40! Good luck! M.

I would like to know if any of the advice given works. I have a "bomber jacket" leather sofa (brown and somewhat soft leather) and it has ink on 2 of the cushions. I was afraid to use anything that will affect the color and I was worried the Magic Eraser would be too abrasive since every little scratch shows on the leather.
Thanks!

Try Mr. Clean magic eraser...but do a spot test first to make sure it doesnt discolor the leather

B.,
I had tried various cleaners on my sofa from a cheap pen mark from my son. If all else fails and it gets discolored call Leather Medic in Fort Myers. It may cost around $100 but he will make it look like nothing had been there and will be able to match the color. First try call the mnufacturer if you can and try all the cleaners out there before resorting to Leather Medic.

Hairspray takes ink out of clothing really well, maybe it will work on leather as well. It is worth a try. Good luck, waiting to hear the outcome. F. in Clearwater
