Cleaning a Glass Cook Top
Hi ladies,
Does anyone have a great idea for getting a glass cook top clean? I was making jam last night and some of it spilled over and burned on the stove top. It is STUCK! I have a product called ceramabrite (or something like that) and have been using a couple of light scrubbers. I've also tried covering it with water and letting it soak. Nothing is working so far! I don't want to use anything too harsh on it because I don't want to leave big scratches or ruin the stove top. Anyone have any miracle products or ideas they'd recommend? Thanks!!!

I've used the "Barkeeper's Friend," which is similar to Comet or Ajax cleanser and in a similar looking container, but it's not as full of harsh chemicals. It has some gold on the outside of the container and I got mine at Walmart in the cleaning product aisle. I've successfully used it clean my glass top stove. I just used that and scrubbed with a washcloth. You may need to do it a few times and use a lot of it to get all of the grime off.

I bought a little cleaning kit from the Home Depot that is made for ceramic cooktops. It is the Ceramabryte cleaner but it came with the cleaner, a scrubber and a razor type tool. It works wonders on my cooktop! Good Luck

I have found that baking soda works for most of your hard clean ups, I use to have a glass cook top before I moved and I'm pretty sure I used it on my stove.
Baking soda is great for cleaning spilled kool-aid on coutertops, scrubbing out pans, cleaning sinks. I love it!

I have the same stove- it's definitely a pain to keep clean! I have used a flat razor to scrape off stuck on messes. You do have to be very careful to keep the blade flat so it doesn't scratch. Then you can use the Cerambrite to clean up the remaining mess (it shouldn't be much).
Good luck! Please post waht works- I am sure we ren't the only ones with this issue! :)

Hi,
I used to use a razor blade or very sharp knife. It would not scratch the glass and would come out perfect! Just use it on a light angle and be a bit careful since they're so sharp.
