Cigar Bar in Houston

Hi moms! I am going to take my hubby out for "his" night on Valentine's Day. He loves cigars, and I would love to take him to a cigar bar/resturaunt. Do you have any suggestions? I live in NW houston, but am willing to drive if necessary. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I haven't been in a while but Morton's Steak house use to have a great one.

Also Downing Street http://www.downingstreetpub.com/

There is a great place in Champions called Cellar 17 wine Bar and right next to it, and owned by the same couple, is Serious Cigars. In fact, I received an email from them and they are accepting reservations right now for a special catered dinner at the wine bar. It sounded like a real treat. Check them out!

Also, Primetime Steakhouse at 1960 near Perry, has a large bar that allows cigars - and they serve their full menu there. You can also reserve a table in the bar - I recommend the booth in the corner!

Downing St. Pub is in Upper Kirby/River Oaks at Kirby and Westheimer, 2549 Kirby. It is the ultimate guy's bar with dark wood, leather banquettes and lots of high-end cigars, whiskey and wine on the menu. They do serve food but it is British pub style; not sure if that is what you had in mind for V-Day or not! See the menu at http://www.downingstreetpub.com/Home.aspx . Also, while they have good ventilation, it is a cigar bar and can sometimes smell like it.

I think he would really enjoy this. What a sweet idea to do something for him for Valentine's Day! I took my husband to the college baseball tournament at Minute Maid Field for a 'guy's' V-Day a few years ago. When I first proposed it he told me no, that he knew there was something important he had to do on that night and he would have to check his calendar...I was steamed...but it turned out that he had made a note that it was Valentine's Day and he was supposed to take me out! Haha, men.

If you are looking for something a little nicer, there is also Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. Another option would be to take him to dinner somewhere nice and then go to a cigar bar afterwards. If you choose that option there are several places you can go. For a bar atmosphere there is Robusto's on I-10 and Greenhouse Rd. http://www.robustoscigarlounge.com/ They also sells cigars there so he can pick something of his own out if he wishes. There is also a place called Serious Cigars. The bigger location is on 1960 Champions Forest area. This place is actually a brick and mortar and have a great selection of cigars to choose from. They are not open late but there is a wine bar right next door. At Serious Cigars since they do not sell alcohol but they allow you to BYOB or buy next door and smoke and relax inside their lounge area. They also have a small covered patio area outside. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. My husband and I are part of a cigar forum so are aware of a lot of cigar events and anything else cigar related. Have a great valentine's day.
