Church in West San Antonio Area

We have lived in San Antonio for over a year now and haven't found a church home. We're looking for a protestant church with activities for young children and great women's group for me.

What can I do next?

we just did a lttle "church shopping" of our own. our best fit was, "university united methodist church", it's on dezavala off of I-10.

You can feel free to visit my church. It's a non-denominational. We're more Northwest, located off of Bandera and Hillcrest Rd. It's call Expect A Miracle Church. We do have activities for children on Sunday mornings and I just took over the Women's ministry so we'll be doing things with the women as well. Our website is www.expectamiraclechurch.org. Feel free to check us out.

I belong to a church called Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church on I-10 before 1604 behind Costco. There is a woman's Bible study every week or every other week and we like to get together for dinner and coffee every so often. There are many military families in our church..

If you'd like more information please call me at ###-###-#### or you may call pastor Hornfeld at ###-###-####. We also have a website where you can listen to some of the sermons (www.graceopc-sat.com)

I hope you find a place you can feel at home. I hope you consider us to be that place :-D

Not sure how "west" of an area you are looking for, but I do know of a few. One is off Castroville and Barclay, called Fiesta Fellowship, It is a mission of Oak Hills church where Max Lucado was Pastor. It is a great church, I work at Christian Academy of San Antonio, and this church is in our Auditorium. I attend a church off of HWY 90 and Military in the Lackland Plaza, it is called X-treme Impact. This church is very charismatic. I"m not sure what kind of church you are used to attending. However, my husband and I fell in love with this church because they are not ashamed of Christ! They have a great youth ministry and children's ministry. You can just feel the Holy Spirit the moment you walk through the door. There is also a church called New Life (with a big butterfly on the sign) I've never been to this one but I have also heard a lot of good things about it. All of these churches are non-denomination. I encourage you to find a church, God should always come first! My family is also involved in a website that holds online Bible studies on sunday's from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The first 1/2 hour is worship music and the next is the Bible Study that covers different topics. It is WWW.AlwaysGiveThanks.com We also have an area where you can post prayer requests or praise reports. Hopefully it will bless you the way it has blessed my family. God bless you and your search for a great church! :)

We just started attending a small church (about 30 people)called Vista Community Church. They meet at OTT ELEM. on Grossenbacher. We like it because it is small and friendly and has good teaching. We attended BRCC on Bandera Rd. for 1.5 years and since it is so large, we really did not feel a part of the church. We did not meet anyone and really had no fellowship. When we needed help, and asked for it, no one was there for us. Everyone is different and either likes a small church or a large church. We prefer a small church. However, if you like a big church, BRCC has the best childrens program we have ever experienced.
