Church Help
We are moving to Johnson County. We are looking for a little more informal Catholic Church. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

We aren't Catholic, but many of our best friends attend Cure of Ars or St. Ann's. Cure is very social, has a BBQ contest every year and everyone we've ever met from there is very easy going.
Hope this helps and welcome to Johnson County!

I LOVE Sacred Heart in Gardner! The priest is awesome! There are tons of young families and Fr. Joe is wonderful with kids...hands out suckers to all kids under communion age before mass, he's actually taken one kid back down the isle after mass ended because the child wanted to go to him and not back to her parents! The sermons are short (great for all the kid's short attention spans) but very meaningful. He can pack a lot of punch into 2 minutes. The only other church I've been to in this area is one near Nall and 143rd (St. Michael Archangel, I think) and I did not feel like I fit in there at all. Good luck finding one you like!

I've been to Prince of Peace a few times ( I live north of KC, it's my brother-in-law's parish); it's a reverent Mass and the priest's sermons are exellent. The air conditioning also works great :) which isn't the case at my local parish!
