Hello!
I have heard good things about Irving Bible Church from other single moms. IBC has a ministry to single moms.
You might try it. They are family friendly and have several services to meet different time needs on Sunday day and night.
We like the 6:00 evening time . It is a casual church, clothes wise and we like that also.
Blessings to you and your boys! You sound like a great Mom! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Sincerely,
C. Nelson

Dear S.--

I am so sorry abour your divorce. That's a tough thing to go through--been there. My husband and I attend a church called Watermark Community Church. We have only been going about six months and really have been impacted by our time there. The Sunday messages are "can't misses" and the church seems to have something for everyone. Until a sanctuary can be built we meet in the auditorium at Lake Highlands High School. Pick up a "Watermark News" at the door before service and you will be amazed at the connecting opportunities. THey are sure to focus on all types of folks going through all types of things. There is a singles ministy and also one dedicated to those affected by divorce--Healing Hearts maybe? Anyway, give it ONE Sunday and I think your time will be well spent. Lake Highland's High School is on Church road West of Audelia. Service is at 9a or 1030a.

Hi S., I am sorry about your divorce. I go to Watermark Community Church, which has a great (and really growing) single parent program and an amazing kids' ministry. I am not directly involved in the single parent ministry, but I do know the director of the program - great guy (Wes Bulter). We meet at Lake Highlands High School right now, but will be breaking ground for our new facility in June (basically at the SW corner of Coit and 635). Watermark is non-denominational and we have members and attendees from all kinds of backgrounds! Check out the website: www.watermark.org. You can find info on the Single Parents' Minsitry under "Ministries". Feel free to e-mail with any questions. I'll be praying for you!

S.,
Hello again! We go to an awesome church called Celebration Covenant in Frisco. It is non-denomenational and there are a lot of former Catholics at our church. Although they are two separate churches, we have a covering church-Celebration Covenant-Pastor Mike Hayes that is in Carrollton(I'm pretty sure that's where it is). I've heard a lot of good things about it, so it might be a place to try. Let me know how it goes. I will sincerely pray for you that you find the right place.

Hi S.,
What an exciting time to visit churches - during Easter season! I'd love to invite to you visit my church home, Fellowship Bible Church North in Plano. We've been going here for 5 years and are completely happy here. There's a single MOMS ministry, Oasis, that meets on the 1st Sun of each month 11 a.m. And there's a mothers of preschoolers ministry called MOMS Connection, meets Wed or Thurs morning (twice a month) 9:30 a.m.
And of course there are great children's and student ministries!
Visit www.fbcnorth.org for more information.

I would love to give you a tour of the church anytime you would like to visit! Church service times are: Friday 7 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m.; 10:30 a.m.; Noon.
I usually go on Friday nights, but I'd love to show you around at any service time.

Services are casual dress and Sr. Pastor Jeff Jones has a great sense of humor that shines through all his attention-grabbing sermons. Feel free to email me if you have anymore questions or would like to attend a service with me. I'm a table leader at MOMS Connection so if you'd like to visit a meeting there, let me know (our next mtg is Thurs April 13, 9:30am).

I'm praying for you and your family to find a church home that is a perfect fit - where you can experience the love and warmth that comes from Jesus Christ; and see his love demonstrated in his followers; and where you can experience spiritual growth in learning more from His Word - the Bible!

God bless,
A.

Hi S., I'm sorry to hear about your situation. It's really important that you get into a divorce support group. My church has group that meets on Tuesday night called Divorce Care. The leaders that facilitate the class are friends of mine. It's an extemely confidential and private group. My friend is actually a former Catholic. She and her husband are committed to helping people through divorce because they've both had painful experiences. Also, on the same night is Divorce Care 4 Kids--it helps the children of divorce manage through the pain and anger that they are experiencing. My church is First Baptist, The Colony. We have quite a few people that live in Carrollton that attend our church so I was hoping it wouldn't be far for you to drive. Our church has a traditional worship service at 9am and a contemporary one at 10:30am on Sunday. I'd like to invite you to join us on Easter sunday (a week and a half from now), we have a very special service planned. If you've got any questions, please contact me back directly. I'm saying a prayer for you right now. L.

I highly recommend you try Fellowship Church, across the highway from Grapevine Mills Mall. It will be different from anything you've experienced in the Catholic Church, but will still be completely BIBLICAL based teachings. The music is AWESOME, the creativity keeps you involved and the children's programs are unsurpassed by any other church.

You have got to try it atleast one weekend. Check out the website for information on service times, map, etc. at www.fellowshipchurch.com.

It will change your life for the better! Many Blessings - L.

Hi S.,

I go to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. They are located on Peters Colony across from Blalack Middle School. We have been members there for over 10 years now. I have both my boys (7 & 12) in there Saturday and Sunday CCD classes. When we first moved here we looked and attended several Catholic churches and we fell in love with St. Catherine. There hours are 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30
Good Luck!

I'm not sure if we qualify as having great programs, but you are always welcome at our church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano. Also, in June most churches will be having vacation bible school programs. VBS can be a great way to meet people without making long term commitments. Our parish would allow your 15 year old to be a teen assistant at the VBS. We also have a Mission Possible Week each June for our teens. Phone # is ###-###-####
