Legos, Legos, Legos!!! They're smart & fun to play with, plus they last forever, just don't step on them in bare feet! ouch.

Hi K. Books and educational DVD's would make good gifts.

Hi K., I just recommended this to another mom looking for good gift ideas. Check out Fat Brain Toys http://fatbraintoys.com/

I've gotten tons of gifts for my nephew from here (he is now 10) and they have great unique things that are also educational. You can also shop by gender and age. You might find even more stuff for other kids on your list!

Enjoy!

My son is 10 and we are moving away from toys.(he is the youngest, and I am done with toys!!) He likes video games, but he also loves his iflip video camera and ipod. He is getting a new clock radio/speakers for his ipod. He might like an inexpensive digital camera. Maybe something cool for is room like a lava lamp. My son is also going to get his own laptop this year. Walmart has a nice one that is one of those small net books, it looks like it has nickeloden slime on it and it has a spill proof keyboard.

Hello!

I haven't looked through the other responses yet so this may be a repeat. I suggest DOING something rather then a material gift...such as a behind the scenes tour at the Aquarium or Zoo. Maybe an outing to a Broadway show or museum. There are a lot of great adventures in the Chicagoland area... Hope this helps a little!

Merry Christmas!

My nephew is 9, he likes
ANYTHING star wars- toys, clothes, books
legos
the wimpy kid books
harry potter books
captain underpants books
This year I bought him the Dangerous book for boys and the corresponding board game.

Since his bday is one week before Christmas, instead of just buying him extra stuff, we also try to DO something special with him. Last year it was an indoor waterpark, this year we are thinking medieval times.
I really like this, because I hate just buying them more junk, and it's really nice to be able to spend some time with him. Ask your son, there may be something like that that he'd really like to do?

Does he like science stuff? Or spy like Jmaes Bond? My son loves that stuff. He was thrilled to get a book last year about space and loves the Spy Gear stuff he picked out at Toys R Us with a gift card he got. Also, maybe a telescope or similar. If you want to stay away from toys, think gadgets like a camera, etc.
