Christmas Gift Ideas - Keokuk,IA

My baby girl will be about 7mo's old around Christmas and I am wondering what I should get her?! We have $50 we are going to spend on her and I would rather just get one big item rather than a couple little things. I want something she will be able to use for awhile also. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

What a great way to get ideas! I didn't read them all but thought:
*family pass to the zoo
*family pass to the Science Museum
*Fisher Price Zoo
*Ride/push toys

I also like the idea of buying a savings bond or putting it into a savings account. We've asked grandparents to do that for birthdays and Christmas instead of a BIG toy or a bunch of small toys. You will find that it won't take long to fill a room with toys even when you try not to.

Have fun! Merry Christmas!

My kids love the fisher price ball popper. So much fun to watch and play with the balls. It will be good for when she sits up and even into walking so you'll get lots of use out of it.

When my daughter was 9 months old for her first Christmas I got her the Playskool Peek and Play Discover Dome. She LOVED it. Check it out here: http://www.hasbro.com/shop/details.cfm?guid=92EC7647-6D40...

It retails for around $49.99

You could get her a wagon. Or a tricycle. Or one of those tables for when she is standing, she can push buttons and it plays music and stuff. Or one of those big stuffed rocking horses. Or you could get her a little play kitchen. I realize all these things she can't really play with now, but she will soon! Have fun! Merry Christmas.

The Busy Ball Popper by Playskool is one of the most entertaining toys I've seen out there and costs less than $20. My son received this as a gift when he was a baby and still enjoys it on occasion at almost 3 years old!

You could get a high quality wooden block set. My daughter received a set when she was one. They were colorful with designs on them. At that age she loved just looking at them, banging them together, and knocking down towers we would make for her. Six years later her and her brother like seeing how tall they can stack them and make little cities and use their cars and dolls with them.

My brother and I got a LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table for our nephew when he was little (7 years ago). He loved it, and I wish we had one for my boys now. It's on sale for $33 on Leapfrog.com...

Put it in the bank, she will get so much for Christmas she will never know that she didn't open a gift. Or you could just yet one Fisher Price toy and put the rest in the bank. When I was little that is what my dad did for me and when I went to college I had some spending money and that was way better than a gift that I wouldn't remember:) My little boy is going to be almost 4 months and everyone asked what to get him, and I said forumal and daipers:)

My little girl will be 8 months, and we got her the LeapFrog Learn & Groove musical table also. It is for 6-36 months & I have heard great things about it, for all ages! It has legs for the table, but can also be used without them until your baby can stand. Walmart had them on sale for Black Friday, only $19, but now I can't find them for less than @ $35 (ONLINE). Walmart in-store was $40 in our town. Good luck!
