Choosing the Sex of Our Next Baby

Hi Moms - need some help here.

My husband and I have decided we'd make one more attempt at having a girl. He has four boys total, two with me and two with his first wife. We both really want a girl and I'd like to hear from anyone who feels they had success with a certain method or technique in trying to have a particular sex.

I believe I should next be ovulating around October 3rd if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

It is my understanding that "girl sperms' live longer than "boy sperms" and having sex 3-5 days BEFORE you ovulate cold get you a girl, as all the boys dye off and only the girls are left in the swim competition to the egg at the finish line. Good luck!

Make sure you have sex the saturday start of ovalation and ever other day after or you can do the first saturday of ovalation and last saturday and you may hit an egg. But in reality you just reall need GOD hes the only one who can help in concieving and prediction or know ing if it s a girl or boy. We have 4 children our selfs we have 3 girls one boy the boy was 2nd to be born we are currently trying for another boy hopefully but it all in gods hands and whatever it ends up being we will be happy to be blessed with what we have.

I also read the book "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby" and tried the tips offered both times we wanted a girl and both times that's what we got. However, just make sure that you would be okay with another boy in case it doesn't work and that's what you get. If you really, really don't want anymore boys, maybe it's better to just enjoy the children you have. Good luck!

If you go to Webmd.com and type in ovulation calendar, it will ask you to put in your last 3 menstrual cycles and then give you a calendar. You can select trying for a boy or girl or either. It goes into different days and positions for each. I am in the process of trying it to get a girl also. Good luck!

Age may have something to do with this process. Prior to conceiving, and I think it might take a few months, drink lots of orange juice. Producing boys means you favor alkalye solutions (what would be in pickles) and you need to be more acidic to produce a girl. This is not scientific, but it worked for me. When a woman approaches 30 years of age, her body chemistry sometimes changes. If you have been producing boys, then sometimes girls are produced. If it fails, you will have a very healthy pregnancy. Good Luck. I had a girl after 3 boys and I followed this old wives tale and it worked for me. I delivered my girl just before turning 35.

C.,
To find a reputable doctor that does sex selection is the first order of business. I tried it back in the 90's. I saw a doctor in Lathrup Village, but I don't recall the name. And it was not cheap and it came out of pocket.

There's always the method of when you ovulate, how often 'to', in order to improve a boy or girl chance. When I saw the sex selection doctor, I was given a script for Chlomid. That's supposed to enhance the environment, so to speak. What it did for me was create false hopes. I was on an emotinal roller coaster because it didn't seem to help and the disappointment sorta killed any further attempts. I didn't want to put myself through that. So I stuck with my 3 wonderful boys.
