I've had them all and I think that EMPIRE Blue Cross / Blue Shield is the best. More doctors seem to accept the insurance and I had the least amount of problems w/ them.

Good Luck!

my husband and I had empire blue cross for years. We liked it. Now his company switched to Atlantis as of 4/1. It's supposed to be identical to empire, we haven't really used it yet.

Hi Y.,
I agree with Koren D. Find the doctor, then find the insurance they take. You'll find out unfortunatly, many doctors are starting to drop insurance coverage, from HIP to BCBS and so on. The insurance companies have too much bureaucracy and require too much paperwork. It costs the doctors too much in over head to accept insurance.
Good luck,
C. S.

Hello Y.,
I think the best thing to do is to find doctors that you feel comfortable with and see what insurance they take.

I've had Empire bcbs and it's okay but more and more docs are not accepting (something about paperwork) I hear that Aetna is the best though so you may want to try that. Your best bet though would be to go on to the insurance websites and find out what doctors are in their network to help you narrow down your choice.

I have bc/bs and I love it. There is a deductible but I like that you can go to any doctor in the book. No referrals necessary.Never had a problem with it for about 15 years now.
