Choosing a Hospital in North West Metro, MN

My husband and I have toured the birth center at both North Memorial Robbinsdale and North Memorial Maple Grove. We are trying to decide which one would be best for us. Both have great qualities, and some differneces. Is there anyone who has delivered at one of these two hospitals who can tell us what they liked and didnt like?

What can I do next?

I delivered at robbinsdale twice and I had a great experience. This time I am going to Maple Grove for a few reasons. My clinic is doing more deliveries there, the rooms are nicer, you dont have to pay for parking, and its something different. My reasons are more superficial but they are what they are.
Good luck

I had all three of my babies at North Memorial and had good experiences. I had a midwife which I think makes all the difference in the world. The staff respected our wishes for a quiet, peaceful (i.e. uninterrupted) delivery. We also had to apply for financial aid to help pay our hospital bills and that NMMC staff was also very respectful/helpful. I didn't like how we (or our visitors) had to pay for parking. I don't have any experiences with different hospitals so I can't compare but I was happy with my NMMC experience.

I had my daughter at North, and my son at MG. North was wonderful for my preemie. They have a great NICU. MG was just far better in every other way. It is smaller, more friendly, intimate, and clean and NICE! There is no cost for parking. My only complaint was that the toilets were quite loud when flushed, and the shower water only gets really warm, not hot. If I was having another kid I would pick MG, hands down.

Don't know about Robbinsdale but I delivered at MG and loved it. Had a great and memorable experience. Got a very cute knit hat by a group of ladies who knits them for all the new babies and a sleeper. My first was delivered at Southdale and I would say this was definitely a better experience overall.

North Memorial Maple Grove all the way. My experience there was the best.
