Chiropractic Care - Bethel Park,PA
Do any of you go see a Chiropractor for anything but back pain? Do you get adjustments to help with other type of ailments that you normally wouldn't associate with a chiropractor? Does it help?
*I have eczema and have read about going to the chiropractor, but i feel weird going for that. also kinda nervous as it always looks like they are about to break your neck. How much is a visit usually?

Yes, yes, and yes! lol
When I start to feel really moody/cranky, etc., I go get adjusted and it immediately makes me feel better!! I also use the chiropractor for headaches and such as well (which I don't suffer from often, but at times I do, and this is a good fix for that as well).

Hi B.,
As a Chiropractor myself, I encourage you to seek a Chiropractor out for your needs. If the doctor you see is kind(which, I would only recommend you see a kind Doctor), he/she will be glad to let you know if they are able to help you with your concerns. They can tell you if they have had success previously with conditions like you are experiencing.
Costs vary nation-wide. I would suggest you call around to find out what the fees are for the doctors in your area. You may want to see if your health insurance covers their care too. Good luck to you addressing your health needs.

I have been taking my 7 wk old to be adjusted for his spitting up and it is amazing the difference it has made for him. We started the process with him almost giving us a bath with his spitting up and now we are down to just the size of a quarter or so. HUGE difference and I would give it a shot....it won't hurt you to try.

I got to a chiropractor for back problems, but I've also had them do adjustments that help with sinus pressure, hand cramps, and even stomach problems. Also with my first pregnancy, the doctor did adjustments on my hips that helped my baby turn from transverse breech (sideways) to head down. It's really incredible what all they can do!
I think a visit typically costs about $45, but we got on a payment plan so it only costs $20 a visit. If your insurance doesn't cover it, they should be able to work something out for you.
If you find a good one they will be up front and let you know if they can't help you. Try to get a recommendation from someone you know if possible.

My family goes whenever someone feels a cold coming on, headaches, when my 4 yr old gets suddenly cranky and moody (changes her mood almost instantly), pinched nerves, sciatica. We usually end up going once every 4-8 weeks. I love going to the chiropractor!
I used to be a chiropractic assistant before a SAHM and we would see kids for ear infection, prolonged bed wetting, sprains, excema, allergies, asthma... Adults for back pain, neck pain, TMJ, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tendonitis in elbow, car accidents, foot pain, migraines...

I would go to a chiro for sprains, pinched nerves and dislocated things rather than a standard doctor.
I don't recommend ear problems. We've had several family members go with no benefits. However, colds and fevers show relief after a visit.
Also other body parts that have pain, like carpal tunnel or foot problems..... We have mixed results with headaches. Sometimes they help, other times there is no diference.

I have eczema also. It can be induced by chemicals or allergy related or kind of both. People that have asthma also tend to get eczema too. Wierd but it is related. I have to be careful with household cleaners like clorox 2. That definantly gives me the dry skin and itchiness associated with it. I also in turn have rosecea on my cheeks. The one thing that helps both things is to take fish oil pills. I take the omega 3 made by nature made. It is good for your skin, hair and also makes it better for bm's. I know in the past my sister in law went to the chiropractor when my nephew had problems going poop and after and adjustment it helped him tremendously. I would try what I recommened first. Most insurances will let you know if chiropractors are covered under their plan. If it is covered then you would most likely pay the copay for seeing a specialist. Be careful with the chemicals if you get eczema on your hands. Aquaphor is also a godsend for the eczema. I buy the generic of it at walmart and it is awesome. I hope this helps answer some questions that you had.

I have taken my son recently for recurring ear infections and I have seen a great relief for him. I was so happy to avoid getting tubes in his ears. Turns out something was out of line in his upper neck causing the drainage to back up. He is like a new little toddler! Sleeping through the night again and no crying while tugging at his ears! :)
