Children's Lighthouse Mckinney

I am thinking about putting my 3m daughter in Children's Lighthouse. I wanted to check with you and see if anyone has anything to say either good or bad about them.

My daughter went there when she was two. I felt the classes were too large without enough supervision. The management seemed good but the teacher turn over was high. That was 2 years ago. It may be better now. At that time they gave a free day so you could evaluate and see if you like it. Hope this helps.

Hi E.
My nephew attend Childrens Lighthouse for the past two years. I know that he went through at least 3 different teachers and that my brother was not too impressed with them. Have you checked out Heritage Learning Center? i have heard NOTHING but positive experiences from parents who have/had their child enrolled in there. The cost is around the same as The Lighthouse. Good luck!

E.,

I see that people are suggesting Heritage. The teacher in my son's last classroom worked there and said to never send your children there. Also, I have a friend who is a director of a church preschool in McKinney who said send your child anywhere but Heritage. I know it is hard to find affordable, decent childcare especially when you get mixed feedback. You can use this link to check out daycares in Texas.

Of course, your gut feel is always a good indicator.

Have you considered Ivy Glen? It is a great place. I haven't heard any specifics about Lighthouse but know that people aren't usually pleased.

PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR DAUGHTER AT CHILDREN'S LIGHTHOUSE. I had my son there, and it was HORRIBLE. The staff didn't tell me he had been hurt on two different occasions, one of which was a pretty big cut on his hand. The room he was in smelled like a dirty foot ALL the time, and there were 51 kids to 2 teachers in there. Also they are supposed to be open at 6:30 but there were several occasions when I had to wait outside more than five minutes after 5:30 for someone to show up. In addition, they charge WAY too much. I talked to my son's teacher at Slaughter Elementary, and her kids go to Heritage Learning Center, she said I should try there. We toured the facility twice, once without our son, second time with him, and we fell in love with the place. It's very clean, the staff are VERY professional, nurturing, and loving. I couldn't have asked for anything more in a daycare. In addition they have my son's summer booked with a different field trip or activity for every day of the entire summer!!!! I am very pleased there. Incase you don't know, it's located on the corner of Virginia and Jordan. The phone number is ###-###-####. Hope this helped!
If you need anything else, just ask:)
