Ladies -

Heading to IKEA this Friday for a child proofing shopping adventure. Going to be buying corner protectors, drawer stoppers and storage bins to put some of our tchotches in. Any recommendations on products that proved really useful to you when your little one was crawling?
Anything you would recommend against, because it was not well made, or perhaps unnecessary?
Lastly, any idea of where I can land a coupon? I remember seeing one in our welcome packet when we moved last year, but I haven't come accross any since.

we are big fans of ikea. the stuff is inexpensive, easy to assemble, gentle on the planet, and has a lighthearted look.

Can't wait for your suggestions.
Thanks,

What can I do next?

Never bothered with the corner protectors, but did use the cord minders (for blinds as well as any other cables), door knob things, outlet covers, power strip covers and drawer thingies. We also had a toilet lock that never stayed put so we just shut the door. We did not buy at IKEA but those are generics that you can find almost anywhere. Get down on the floor and get a baby's eye view of your home. Oh, and if you have a flat screen TV, get that locked down.

Outlet covers, and door knob things. Gates for stairs. Other than that,
nothing.

Hi Lori,
In addition to the already good answers:
1. Locks for cabinets that hold cleaning stuff etc.
2. door stopper?
3. tupperware or placemats etc. for a drawer she can crawl into :) and explore.
4. small table and chairs from ikea that she can get used to getting up and down...

Didn't buy any of it. We don't have stairs, or we would have gotten a baby gate. Get down on the floor and look for things that could be easily knocked over. Then just move them.

I only got corner protectors for one corner in my house and it was a sharp nasty counter one that was right at his head level so I felt we needed it. Outlet covers and gates are all I'm using now, but soon I will get door knob covers since he tries to open doors.

You might want stick on latches for your 'fridge and dishwasher since mine were sometimes too curious there. I think I got mine from Babies R Us so I'm not sure what Ikea has.
