"Chick Lit"

Can anyone recommend a light, "feel good" book for a trip? I belong to a book club, and we often read heavier, more intellectual books. I am going on a trip this weekend and want something a little lighter for the flight. I enjoy "chick lit" when I am in between my book club books. Any recommendations?

Wow! What a lot of great ideas! Some of them I've read (and enjoyed), but there are also some new suggestions that I look forward to checking out. I will save this information for summer reading ideas. Perfect for sitting on a lawn chair at the waterpark! Thanks everybody.

I've gotta weigh in and say the Sookie Stackhouse books are great, and a fast read as well. I started reading them and had to read them all. Now my daughter has discovered them, and she loves them too.
The HBO series "True Blood" is based on these books, but the books are so different than the TV series.

Luann Rice does great chick books, beach read type. For total fluff chick suspense books: Julie Garwood, Lisa Gardner, Lisa Jackson, Tami Hoag, Suzanne Brockman, Iris Johansen, Nora Roberts (not all of hers are suspense).

Not sure if this would fall into that category, but the Sookie Stackhouse series is pretty cute, quick read, by Charlaine Harris. If you want out and out romance novel...you can't go wrong with Jude Deveraux, if you want make you blush steamy...Emma Holly ( but don't say I didn't warn you!)
Someone reccomended In Her Shoes...if you have a sister a great book!!!

If you like things with magic, I totally recommend Enchanted, Inc. by Shanna Swendson. It's really light, but cute, about a girl who is "immune" to magic, so it doesnt work on her, but she thinks she's going a little crazy when she moves to new york and starts seeing people with fairy wings and stuff. Fun and light.

Janet Evonavich, Jennifer Weiner, Summer Sisters by Judy Bloom, Marian Keyes are a few of my favorites. If you choose Janet Evonavich, you'll want to take several books. They're a really quick read, but oh so funny!

chick lit??
well, i am into historical fiction 'chick lit' i guess you could call it. i get at barnes and noble website click on bargain books and click on historical fiction, anything with ann boleyn, henry VIII (no not him, his wives), all of those are awesome readings. if you need a title and are interested in the type of books i read PM me i can give you a few titles.

I really enjoy some of Jennifer Weiner's books too! Specifically, "Good In Bed" (no, not a book about sex), "In Her Shoes," and for a good Mommy perspective, "Little Earthquakes."

I also really enjoyed, "Belong To Me," by Marisa De Los Santos.

The Sookie Stackhouse series are great! My DH even read them with me! They are very small and a very quick read...if you like them you should buy several because you can pretty much read 1 in a day :) DH and I are patiently waiting for the next one in the series! We have a standing Date Night when "True Blood" returns...can't wait!

I didn't want to read any of the Twilight books but after my 15 yr old SS begged me and his father to read them (we read all the Harry Potters as a family) we tried them...DH stopped when he got to the part where they describe that the vampires "sparkle", he just couldn't get into it...but I liked them very much...they really are a pretty sweet love story!

Anything by Lisa Gardner is an easy quick read too!

anything by Susan Elizabeth Phillips I just finished What I did for Love it was great. made me laugh out loud. nora roberts wedding series Vision in white or bed or roses are both out. waiting for the next one due out either this month or next. janet evanavitch is great also.

Janet Evanovich has several series with a little suspense and some that are more romance only, Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series (love these and waiting for a new one), The Blossom Street series by Debbie Maccomber, Carly Phillips, Toni McGee Causey.

Great question, now I have some authors to check out too :)
