Hello Mama's,
My husband and I have been car shopping and we are looking at Ford and Chevy cars, we seen the Ford explorer and liked it but I felt that there wasn't enough leg room in the back? Then we came across the Chevy Traverse, I LOVE it soo far! The car drive's wonderfully and gives you 25 miles on the highway per gallon, the seats are adjustable-Ford wasn't, and it felt much more wider and bigger in the inside. Do any of you mama's drive this car? Do you like-LOVE it? The Ford Explorer seats 7 and so does the Chevy. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank's once again Mama's!

We have the Chevy Traverse and got it in Nov.2009 when they first came out.I LOVE it.We have 2 kids:2 and 5.We have car/booster seat in the middle row.We have captains chairs in the second row and bench in the third so it seats 7.There is still enough room for me to hop in the third row if the in-laws are riding with us.The third row has leg room and the seats fold flat when you need them too.We have the LT,with back up camera and sensors, which I love since it is a bigger car than I am used too.So glad we got.Great family car.

I have the Buick version of the traverse(Buick enclave). They are almost identical in the basics, just different with cosmetics and some options. We looked at quite a few different suv's, for example the Acura MDX, BMW x5, and so on. We chose the Buick for many resasons, and the biggest was the seating. We went with the 7 seats( there is an option for the Traverse as well for to back seat benches to seat 8) and since 2 other family members have bought the same car. We did sign up for onstar (there is an annual fee) and they send directions directly to or nav system in the car.
We did look at the Traverse but like the look of the Enclave better. There is also a GMC version called the Acadia. They are all fairly close in price. We went with Buick because we like the look the best.

Love my Traverse. I like that I can have 7 people in the car as well as a bit of storage space. I have sat in the back and although it is not as much space as the middle row it is comfortable enough for an adult. When the back row is down it has a ton of trunk space in it. It rides like a car instead of a typical SUV or truck. I hope you get it and like it as much as we do.

We just got one this year. So far, so good! The only thing I have noticed, is that is is harder to get to that last row seat than it is in a mini van. Mileage, not as much as you think though. We drove out of state and were getting closer to 2-210 mpg. Around town is around 16-17.

One thing to think about, chevy has onstar, ford (nor any other car maker) has anything that is quite the same. Onstar will send someone to change a tire for you anytime, tow your car anytime for no charge, track your car if it is stolen. I have a chevy ( a tahoe and I love it) and on more than one occasion I have used my onstar for assistance. Once just as a test I called both onstar & AAA, AAA told me it was a 2 hour wait, onstar sent someone right away to change a blown out tire on the interstate. Look up consumer reviews, they can give you real (good and bad) feed back from owners of both cars. Happy car shopping
