Chevrolet Trail Blazer - Good or Bad with Toddlers?

Hi,
I am in the market for a new vehicle. Currently I drive a Grand Caravan. While I love the practicality of a mini van, I am getting so tired of driving a mom car. I want something else. I've narrowed it down to a Chevy Trailblazer. I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think of it, and how it is for two carseats!

What can I do next?

My husband is a mechanic and he has had nothing but bad things to say about those. Stick with a Ford Explorer or a Ford Escape. I have a 2002 Explorer and have had ZERO problems. I keep up with oil changes and such and I have not had a single thing go wrong with it. I think that is pretty good for a 5 year old vehicle.Plus there is plenty of room. The 2002 and newer Explorer have the option of third row seating too for more room if you feel you need it.

I have a Trailblazer and it's nice, but I think you might miss the room of the minivan. I am actually in the market for a minivan. I like my truck for one carseat, but we will hae 2 soon and I just don't see them fitting well. But if you can go for the LT with the 3rd row. It's actually kinda roomy, it just eats up your trunk space. Well, good luck with whatever you decide.

We have a Trailblazer with the 3rd row and we love it. We have a 4yr old and a 12yr old but I have fit 2 carseats in there at one time. The 3rd row also lays down flat so the "trunk" area can be very big.

Stacy,

I know how you feel. I am currently looking to purchase a minivan because my suv is very inconvenient. It fits 2-4 carseats but the 3rd row is a hassle to reach if the child cannot buckle themselves up. If you go for the 3rd row option look at getting captain sits for the middle row instead of the standard row seat. I wish I would have done that! I have to carpool with other kids & buckling them all up can be time consuming.

The Trailblazer is a very smooth ride & would love to get one also but it just won't fit our family. I guess I will be joining the soccer moms club soon!

Have fun with whatever you choose!

I have a chevy trailblazer and love it. With 2 carseats, the only problem is you wouldn't really be able to use the senter spot (for a 3rd rear passenger) like any car that isn't quad seats I guess. We do have to put arolled up towel under the carseat to make it more level as our safety video at childbirth classes suggested. The headrests are a good place to put a mirror to look back at them. The rear cargo area glass opens separately or the entire door for cargo use in the rear. We like it.

We love our Trailblazer, so much that we bought another. Two car seats should fit perfectly with room in the middle.

We have a Trail Blazer and I can say good and bad things about it. It drives much like a mini van, so it's comfy and you don't feel like you're driving a truck. It has the 3rd row of seats and it's actually really comfy back there (has more room than a lot of other SUV's with 3rd rows). So as for the basic vehicle, I love it! We've had some problems with the air/heat, and a few other things. We did buy it used so who knows what happened before we had it (it was probably a lease type thing because there weren't many miles). Maybe check out Consumer Reports to see if it is known for having any problems. Like I said though, as for the basic vehicle, I love it! Oh, and as for carseats, we fit 3 across the 2nd row of seats and 2 in the back (if absolutely necessary, very tight in the 2nd row for 3 though). Good luck!

I dont have a TrailBlazer but just went through the same thing. i had a minivan--loved it, but was sick of looking like a mom (and it was horrible in the snow) We just got a Honda Pilot and LOVE it. It has everything we need for a great price. The only thing I can say I miss is the sliding doors. There are pros and cons to everything though.
Good Luck with your decision.
