We are going to visit family in KY in a few weeks. They are about an hour away from Nashville so we are thinking about spending a day there. Can anyone tell me of fun things that are not outragously expensive there. My boys are 10, 13 and 42 (Husband). :) We have talked about he zoo but would like other ideas.

Thanks!!

So What Happened?

We have decided to go the the Zoo and the Parthenon. I was not sure about the Parthenon but when my husband has my boys if they would want o see it and they both said yes and are very excited about it. We have not even told them about the zoo yet. We want to surprise them if at all possible. Thanks so much for the suggestions!!!

UPDATE: We went to the Nashville zoo and that Parthenon. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have a friend with 9 grandchildren in Nashville (number 10 due any day, all from the same parents) who visits them a few times a year, and they LOVE the zoo and aquarium. She gave me these sites to share as well:

We were just in Nashville last week. The heat was excessive so we found ourselves at the Opry Mall (not all that exciting!), and spent the cooler day at the zoo. THE ZOO WAS AWESOME! Their Jungle Gym area was by the far the neatest we have ever seen. Even my husband and I had fun going through the wooden "castle." The entire zoo had about 85% shade. It was super clean and easy to navigate. Just thought I'd throw out how much we enjoyed the zoo.

We left 3 days early, so we didn't get to do much else.

Do a Google Search for Nashville's website.
Every State, has a tourism website.
And you will find a lot of info there.

Also check out Trip Advisor and Yelp for good ideas. I think they have a good science museum there and if you are a member of the Dallas or Fort Worth science museums, you get in FREE! My boys, now 13 and 17, love science museums. Whenever we travel, we always check out the science museum in each city.
