I'm giving a friend a babyshower looking for places that don't charge a arm & a leg downriver looked @ a few places but with 25-30 people coming & paying for it by myself I need a cheaper venue. At someones home isn't a option. Thanks in advance

I used to live in Riverview, and there are a few places you could check out, like the VFW halls in Riverview and Trenton Also if you know someone who is a church member maybe they rent out a hall, they usually have some kind of area in the church that can be used for a shower, hope this helps good luck, and Hey to Down River!!!!!

If you or your friend belong to a church, that'd be your best deal. Sometimes they charge a fee but it won't be too much. They you can have it catered or do your own salad buffet or something easy.

I had my babyshower at the Southgate Civic Center in the loft upstairs. It was $65 for 4 hours and you have to pay a $90 deposit which you will get back after the shower. It was a very decent room and like yourself we were looking for something reasonable. What we also did was have someone bring in a dish of some sort and that helped save us even more money. It was a great turnout. Just plan it so you'll have enough time to decorate before the shower actually starts:)

I was also going to suggest a church. And I've been to a baby shower that was pot luck, it went over very well. The mother to be asked everyone to make vegan dishes, and it went over well (they also asked there guests to try to buy locally and sustainable items like wood toys over plastic).
Good luck, A. H
