So my question to you all is this. Why are there no changing tables in the men's restroom in public places? I mean sometimes they don't have them even in women's, but I have never heard of them in men's. so what happens if Dad takes baby out for the day and has to change. Always wondered about this? :-)

What can I do next?

Huh? Most places I go to have them. Really any place built in the last 10 years has them.

I think the problem with older places is that in the restrooms were build too small to accommodate a changing table, and it would be really expensive to do anything about it now. It's very costly to renovate restrooms.

Some men's bathrooms have them. Most major stores like Walmart and Target do, the majority of restaurants we go to also do.

When hubs finds himself in this predicament, he would make use of any flat surface, and the changing pad in the diaper bag. A table, the sinks, a bench, the back of the jeep, the passenger seat of the car, the stroller, the floor even. Once baby is capable of standing, stand up diaper changes are a viable option.

Diaper changing tables are relatively new here in NYC, most ladies rooms don't have them, neither do most mens. Only more recent construction tends to have one.

Good luck to you and yours,

Most of our stores have either a changing table in the men's room or (more likely) have a "family restroom" which is really big (fits a stroller and two kids with an adult) and a great option!

Call the stores managers you most often visit & ask them

Around here a lot of men's rooms have them.
The family restrooms have them too as well as always (of course) the lady's rooms.
Of course - if Dad has baby for the day - he can always change diapers in the car (put down a changing mat and/or a towel).
I've seen people change diapers in public (usually women), but that's gross (especially in a food court).
Some out of the way place with a little privacy is best.

Yep it sucks. My DH would just use someplace out in public, like the stroller.

Some mens bathrooms do have them. But its rare. There is usually a family bathroom at most places now that have them. I used my car alot. We live where there is a lot of low class people (not a money thing i am poor just thought less people) who leave the dirty diaper on the table or the baby makes a mess on the changing table and its rarely clean. I only go to public bathrooms if I am out of town or I MUST go. Most even at chains are NASTY with body waste.

My husband uses the family restroom when he takes the girls to the mall; only the two youngest need diaper changes. He has never seen a changing table in the men's restroom but it would make his life a little easier since the family restroom is almost always taken.

They don't change them LOL.That used to really irritate me! Actually I am finding there are a lot more family restrooms and men's rooms that have changing tables. My husband though would just take them out for a few hours and be back in time to change diapers. :-)
