Changes to Pampers

As anyone noticed that the Pampers Baby Dry pampers have changed. I hate the new stretchy diapers that the baby dry has changed to. The old style was the only diaper that fit my child properly and never leaked. Now they leak, don't hold very much, don't stay in place, and sag. There was no warning or anything, and nothing even written on the packages. Even the picture on the package is the old style diaper.
The original Koala grips and non stretch were amazing, and the best diaper out there.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what to try next if the pampers don't revert back to their original brand.
K.

Pampers cruisers are the best diapers that I have found. Everything else including huggies always leak. If you can afford the cruisers they work great.

hello-
i found that pampers baby dry didn't work well for us but the pampers cruisers were excellent. really nice leak protection with great stretchy sides that fasten securely.

the sam's club diapers also work really well - comparable to the cruisers at 1/2 the cost.

Luvs are made by the same people that make Pampers. They are identical to Pampers Baby Dry. Also, you might try Pampers "premium" line called Cruisers. They are the only diapers that held up for our son when he was smaller. Now that he's older (15mo) we can use any brand.

K.,
What size diapers does your son wear, maybe it has to do w/the size(just a thought). My Karson is 13 1/2 months and I totally understand wear you are comming from. Karson is not leaking but he has had a lot more rashes that last a lot longer. Try Luvs they seem to work a lot better. I don't really care for Huggies cause Karson leaks in those.
Good Luck.
I think we are all in it together.

Hi K.
I know exactly what you mean! I've been using the Pampers Cruisers on my twins and recently noticed that they changed the lining to a weave lining. Both of my little guys have had more rashes as a result, IMHO. I did notice that there was a little picture of the new lining on the box but some boxes did not have it. I understand Pampers is modifying some of their products but not phasing out the originals. So, I would email them exactly what you said here, I did.

Suggestions, well, I'm trying out the Huggies Supreme which are okay. Good luck.

The thing with diapers in our family was that we couldn't find a single diaper that would work duirng that really runny-poo-before-starting-solids phase. I tried them all with both kids and for a few months would just live in the laundry room. When my son was smaller we used Luvs and started out with those on my daughter. But Luvs also made some changes and the elastic in the legs kept breaking, etc so they were not working for either child. We finally found the Kirkland brand at Costco which are priced well and work great. Since my daughter is now 13 months and has more solid poo (sorry this is so graphic--but this is the way of diapers!) we never have leaks of any variety and they hold up great overnight. We never see any of those crystal things like you see in many other brands. I don't have a Costco membership personally so I just have my parents pick them up and I reimburse them.

Good luck!

Yes, I used Pampers cruisers and baby dry up untill a few months ago. I changed to Luvs because they are cheaper and work well for my 2 1/2 year old son. He doesnt need to be changed as often. I have noticed with all diapers that it depends on where you buy them. I usually by diapers at WalMart but if I get them at the grocery store they are always different and very expensive. (Tom Thumb Luvs 17.99, WalMart Luvs 13.99). I also noticed they would change and then go back again the next time I bought them. Some batches would have deffects and the tabs would rip off you you pulled to hard.

Have you been shopping somewhere else lately? Maybe just a different location?

Hi K., I'm disappointed to hear about Pampers. I just bought a huge box, but have not opened them yet. I hope they are still the old version. I guess I'll find out soon enough. I've tried just about every brand, including national and most store brands, and the best luck I've had is with the Costco Kirkland Brand. I just finished a box of 140 and not even one of them leaked. Kirkland and Pampers are the only ones I've not experienced leaking, ripped tabs or inconsistent sizing with. I'm a die-hard bargain shopper so I usually buy diapers when they are buy one get one, on sale or I have a coupon, but it's been so nice not having to change my son's clothes two or more times a day because of leaking, that I will probably just stick to Kirkland from now on! ;-) Good luck finding the right ones for your baby! I quit using Pampers awhile back because of the crystals, and what not. I am now using Huggies Convertibles and I LOVE THEM! My son cannot open them and take them off, they fit well and NEVER leak. The only problem is that for some reason Walmart and Target quit carrying them and I can only get them at Babies R Us now. But I love them and have been buying in bulk! :) Good luck!

I noticed a change too. The Pampers I used during the day changed to a mesh-like lining with little gel-like, crystals that would "leak" out and get all over my daughter's bottom. I thought it was a bad package and called Pampers customer service. (This was a few months ago.) They said the lining was something new. Because I didn't like them and was unhappy, Pampers sent me coupons to for free & discounted Pampers diapers. I used up the coupons on Dry Baby exclusively. They seem to be the same thing I've always liked. -- For a day time diaper that works just as well as the former Pampers..try Sam's Club brand. Honest. They're less expensive and work great for us! We've used size 4, 5 and their version of "pull-ups".

I actually like the new strechy sides. Also, Cruisers have those same stretchy sides so I wouldn't try those.

You might be surprised at the Sam's Club brand, Smiles. They don't stretch at the waist and are nearly as heavy-duty as Pampers. I was skeptical, but a friend let me try a few of hers and I'm going to switch. They're only $20 for a box of 125 or so. Try it! If you go to Sam's, beware that not every store carries Smiles.
