Cervical Cancer and Pregnancy

One of my friends just learned she has stage 2 cervical cancer, and she is 4 months pregnant with her second child. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience. We are trying to prepare her with lots of good information when she sees her doctor next week to discuss options, whatever they may be...

What can I do next?

Hi M. F- Congratulations on your pregnancy. I was diagnosed with Leukemia (CML) which is very treatable with medication.
Since she is in Stage 2 cervical cancer- it may be treatable with medication with possible early radiation. Since she is pregnant- there are some options she may have to consider.
She needs her hemotologist and ob/gyn to collaborate and come up with a solutions/options.
Best of luck and God speed.

My firend went through the same thing with her second pregnancy. Her son is now 4 years old and healthy as a bug. She is now cancer free.

yes, got thru this w/ t help of God, UCI med cntr (Dr. Philip Di Saia), fam, very spec frnds & prayers. was age 42 & preg also. dlivered a beautiful healthy son followed by an imediate 'radical' hysterectomy 2 this very aggressive cancer. so far, so good. thank God 4 my 2nd chance.

A good place to connect is on carepages.com. I am a M. of 2 and just finishing chemo for cancer. It has been a great resource and support for me. I will say prayers for your friend. God Bless
