Cell Phone Coverage
I will be moving soon to Tucson, and my husband and I are just wondering what the best cell phone coverages are.

A.,
Military? Chances are very good that if you live off-base, you may chose to live in the Rita Ranch area. Many do. Sprint covers Tucson and our area better than some of the others.

My husband and I have T-Mobile, and it works wonderfully. I know Verizon also works well. With the mountains here nothing will work everywhere, but those two seem pretty good. Good Luck with your move. We moved here from NY last summer, and love it.

Hi A.-
I love Alltel- the phones also work out in the desert, like on the way to Sells. There are some blank spots, but nothing as bad as the other companies. It even works at the Grand Canyon! I've heard the Verizon is improving -I wouldn't know about that. S.

Verizon is by far the best coverage in town and in Arizona. I have travelled all over the country and nine times out of ten I will have coverage even in areas where my husband's old AT&T phone would not.
Good luck on your move. DM is a huge base. Don't judge Tucson on the immediate surounding area though. There are so many wonderful things in Tucson, like the Gaslight Theater, the Children's Museum, and the Zoo. Lots of hiking, camping, and outdoor activities too!

I would go onto the cell phone provides website. I know that T-Mobile has a few "dead Zones", but I was able to go onto their site and find out where there was coverage.
Here is an example from T-mobile http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/pcc.aspx
Here is on from Verizon

Good luck.
