Cell Phone Battery - How Long Does Your Last on a Charge?

I got a LG phone about a year and a half ago and the charge seems only to last for 2-3 days. I leave the phone ON but rarely use it. I usually use the phone about 30 minutes a month. I purchased a second battery but it does the same thing. How often do you charge your phone and is there a difference in the length of time a charge is held from brand to brand? I don't recall having the charge my Motorola so often. Thanks for your help.

Michelle,
That is average for a phone battery. It all depends on how much I use my phone. I have had it last two to three days and other times it has to be charged the same day cause I used it soo much.

My husband swears that cell phone batteries/cell phones are made to only last 1 1/2 to 2 years...right before your contract is up. This has happened to my last 2 phones...the battery stops holding a charge. Both times I have ended up just getting a new phone because buying the new battery wasn't cheap. I don't use my phone very much either but have it on all the time. I usually just keep it connected to the charger in the car, that way it is always ready to go.

I actually don't think thats bad at all, considering the age of the battery. My sisters phone is an LG and her battery lasts for 7 minutes of talking time, then it dies. She took her phone back to Verizon and they gave her a "new" battery with the same problem. I have had quite a few cell phones in the past and once their age hits 1.5-2 years old, the battery is virtually useless. All I am saying I guess is to consider yourself lucky that your battery lasts that long!

About 3 days, with minimal use.

That's about how long my battery lasts too. But sometimes it seems to go longer or shorter. There are two things that make a difference with my phone's battery. When I carry it in my pocket, the extra warmth makes it loose it's charge faster. Plus, I don't get good reception at my house, those times when my phone sits in my purse here searching and searching for service, it also uses the battery up faster.

A lot of it depends on how many "gadgets" you have on it because each function takes more "juice". If it is just a straight forward cellphone then it shouldn't be running out so fast.

That sounds pretty good to me! I have a 1 year old Blackberry, and I'm lucky to get a day out of it. Granted, I'm constantly on the phone and using it for email and pictures, but still... if I forget to plug it in at night, the battery shows red and/or has turned off by morning. I think the longer you have the phone, the worse the battery gets.
