Cds for Baby and Mommy During Commute?

My daughter often likes to listen to a Sesame Street ABCs CD in the car during our daily commute (about an hour to hour and 1/2 every day). This has been fine, but lately the CD is starting to drive me crazy. We definitely need some variety. Does anyone have any recommendations for CDs that are entertaining for babies, but not completely annoying for mommies?

What can I do next?

I love Hullabaloo! They are a San Diego kids band. We have 3 cd's and listen to them often. They are so good and fun to sing to that I often will play them even when the kids aren't in the car! LOL!! http://www.hullabalooband.com/

Other than that we listen to air 1 (here in the inland empire you can find it on 90.1) although it is a christian station, it's got music for everyone - it's postive music not so much worship. In fact they even play mainstream bands like The Fray, the good thing though is you never have to worry about bad language. My kids love and sing along to the songs. If you aren't in So. Cal, then visit their website to see if you have a station in you area. www.Air1.com

I just saw another Mom recommend Dan Zanes. We LOVE Dan Zanes over here too!!
Enjoy!

While I admit we have our share of kids CDs, we listen more to our "regular music" a lot more in the car then we ever do the kids CDs. We save those for long trips or bad days and space them out mostly when we need something special. My boys love Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, Beatles, classical music, Lorenna McKennit couldn't come out of the car for months because they loved her so much. Try some of your own CDs and see how they work. Sing along or bop along just as you would to any kids CD and you might find yourself amazed. There is very little music my boys won't listen to and enjoy now. We do try to avoid the radio itself because it's full of commercials and people who natter away and often say some things you would not want your young children repeating, and they get annoyed by it. You know we're desperate when the radio is on ;)
Just a thought.

My daughter loves the Doodlebops, and I actually like it too! hehe I find myself singing the songs in the middle of the day sometimes ;)
My friend and I brought our kids to one of their concerts recently and we were actually singing and dancing more than the kids! haha

I second the mom that suggested They Might Be Giants. My daughter is almost 6 and sings along to them every time we are in the car. I hear the songs over and over and over and I have not wanted to pull the radio out of my car yet.

Laurie Berkner is great too. A little more "childish" but good for a baby girl especially. She was one of my daughter's favorites too.

Lastly, I would HIGHLY suggest Dan Zanes. He is fun, hip, cool and the kids LOVE him! Disney plays him a lot too.

Good luck!

I have some Disney Cd's 1,2,3 is all I know them by. I got them at walmart, and they are rather nice, all the songs I remember loving as a kid. I also got a cd called 'car songs' that is fun. I just get enough so that when one bugs me I can switch it for the next. I am usually good for a couple of weeks on each...
Safe travels!

My son loves Disney's Little Einsteins cd's. It is interactive and it is full of wonderful classical music, so it is very tolerable for parents too. We have some DVD's of it too.
I hope this helps.

Disney Mania cd' are good. It's upbeat remakes of Disney classics as well as new tunes.
The band They Might Be Giants have 2 cd's out through disney called Here comes the ABC's and Here Comes the 123's. I love these alsbums as I was a big fan of them back in high school. I must be old when my favorite band has kid cd's out! They al;so sing the theme song to Higglytown Heroes.
Disney Greatest Hits are also fun. songs from all their movies.
Greg and Steve have good cd's as well as Raffi. I also love Ella Jenkins cd's.
Radio Disney ( AM station depends on where you live) play younger kid music starting at 9 am for an hour or two.
