Hello,
I am a dentist and have quite a bit of experience with children's dental care. The pictures that were posted are good examples of cavities, but are very late stage cavities that have been there for a while. Often with children, cavities are hard to detect without radiographs and a clinical exam. I would recommend taking your child to your dentist for a check or to a pediatric dentist for an exam.

I believe they would just look like black or dark spots on the teeth. You could do a Google image search for "child cavities" or something similar.
