Career

Hello Mama's,

I am looking in to a career change ( EDIT: from Cosmetology), once both my kids are in school: any suggestions on where to look for some good ideas on what to go back to school for, or any suggestions. I have a lot of time, but I want to get started as soon as possible.

What can I do next?

I'm a stylist as well and would love a career change. Go to your local community college and take the Meyers Briggs personality test, it can help narrow down your interests career wise. Also, browse the bls.gov outlook handbook for career ideas:

Take a look at www.iseek.org It was developed by the state of MN, but it is a great resource for exploring possible careers, and finding out what type of training is needed to pursue each one.

if you want to go into cosmetology, i suggest a beauty academy. we have two in the city i live in. i don't know if christina's is a national brand or not, but they have their own academy, then we also have the city one. my future SIL is starting to attend this summer (she is still in high school, she will be finished with her schooling soon after she finishes. she gets high school credit for attending a trade school. pretty awesome.)

good luck finding out information for your area.

Look at your local community college. They usually have adult classes for
adults looking to go back to work.
