Care Bears Party

Hi gals and some gents,

I am an event decorator and I have decided to FINALLY do my own event after being in the business for about 2 yrs. So my daughter will be turning 1 and i also have a 2 yr old son and a 10 yr old son. So the crowd of kids will be pretty mixed. Anyhoo, Im a little young and dont quite remember the show though i want to make sure i incorporate the essense of the characters, their surroundings, and values, etc. I remember the characters and the basics, like the rainbow and sharing and their vehicle..but am i missing something. I really want to do this beautiful theme justice by going beyond what a normal care bear themed party willbe.

So for those of you that remember the show, can you give me your thought and reminders about important things abt the show? (Even decorating ideas if you've done the theme yourself. I'm in the business but I'm open to suggestions) And while you guys ponder on how you could help, I'm going to continue to research via late nite web searching and youtube. LOL!! Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

The Care Bears and Care Bear Cousins are from a magical place called the Kingdom of Caring. Care-a-Lot is the home of the Care Bears, each bear had their own special talent. Care-a-Lot is filled with lots of rainbows and clouds to jump and slide on. From here the Care Bears keep an eye on us down on earth. The Care Bear cousins are from the Forest of Feelings. The forest of feelings is full of lush tree's, grass and beautiful plants. The leaves are heart shaped and have different colors. There is a river running through the Forest of Feelings. The forest of Feelings lies somewhere between earth and Care-a-Lot. Together Care-a-Lot and the Forest of Feelings makes up the wonderful Kingdom of Caring. My daughter's favorite was always Tenderheart Bear.

A mulit-colored balloon arch in front of your home would look great, and you can use every color of the rainbow to decorate with. Maybe have one of the Care Bear movies playing throughout the party to keep kids entertained.

The care bears have been re-vamped since the 80's. Basics are the same, clouds and stars and hearts and "caring". Basic rainbow colors.

Something you might think of, face paint for the kids. Give them their own symbols. Granted the bears have then on their bellies, but a cheek would be just as nice.

Quick suggestion...Go to a couple of thrift stores, they have tons of care bears for very little money...you could have a care bear corner with lots of care bears. Run them through the dryer for 10 min. if you're worried about where they've been, but I found lots of nice clean care bear stuffed animals at thrift stores...some only $1

www.noahsarkworkshop.com has three Care Bears (Sunshine, Bedtime and Cheer Bears) available for purchase. The company is similar to Build A Bear, but the kids hand-stuff the bears themselves. It makes for a great activity at a birthday party and is a wonderful parting gift for guests. Good luck!

Rainbow arch with balloons as an entry way to the party search ebay i'm sure you'll find a mixture of 80's to present that you could use (cake pan their cute)

The show is back on The Hub.
