Hello! We are in the market to buy an infant car seat for our son being born this August. I have used Britax for a rear to forward facing seat and my daughters current high back booster. My infant seat for my daughter was a graco (with the stroller) and I am wondering what seats all you mom's would recommend. I want SAFE and not chunky or weird to manuver. Also....
We looked at a stroller that you could put an infant seat in the front and it had a seat/step in the back for a second (older) child to ride on or sit if tired. My daughter won't always need this option, but something like it would be great to have for those longer walks when she might get tired legs. Any thoughts on stroller's you would recommend for an infant and a 5 1/2 year old? I don't want to have to buy a stroller/car seat combo that won't accomodate all of us. Thanks for your help in advance!

What can I do next?

We just purchased the "Baby Trend" Sit-n-stand for $130 at Target. Works well, folds up easy, easy to manuever, not much bigger than the big Graco stroller when folded in the car. I would recommend it. I have a Britax for my 3 1/2 yr old, we used a Graco when she was an infant. They both were fine for us. We just purchased a "Baby Trend" infant seat for my son and we hate it- would NOT recommend.

I don;thave any advise on the stroller for two children but I do have a word of warning on the infant seat. There was just a safety test done and a portion of it had carseats installed. There were several that can apart in the collision. You mentioned Graco but not which model you had so I wanted to tell you that the SafeSeat was one of the seats that came off of the base in the collision. This was not a crash test done to test the seats however the results were startling. The Graco SnugRide did not separate from the base. I loved our SnugRide and would recommend it to anyone.
The first link is to a story about the crash test and the second is actual video of the test. There are several clips that run and the brand of the seat in each clip is listed at the top of the video.

We have a 3 year old and 9 month old. We bought the "BABY TREND GALAXY SIT 'N STAND WITH PARENT TRAY" and LOVE IT! We were able to put our Graco infant carseat in the front, and now that he's older he sits in the seat with the tray. My older son is able to sit or stand in the back and loves that...plus it's easy in and out for him. Best purchase we've made by far!

Here's the one we purchased - the photo shows it for the infant car seat. It also comes with the tray of course for when they are no longer in the car seat. The older child can sit comfortably behind the younger child - although the photo doesn't show that very well.

For my 3 1/2 year old, we use a Britax carseat and love it.

KK, we found that the FischerPrice sit n stand held up to 50 lbs in the 'back' seat. The reviews kept saying something about the front wheels. We lubed them with a biking oil and they work fine!
