So What Happened?™

BIG thank you for your responses to my question. I was not asking on behalf of my baby, but rather on behalf of my mother. She's done a lot of research online, but I wanted to take advantage of this resource because I know how valuable personal experience is when gathering information. You all have been so kind in taking time to respond. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love this website because of kind hearts like yours.

Hi S.,
I had a very bad case of candida last year. It was all over. My back broke out in eczema, I had lumps under my skin all across my chest and I was itching, hot and miserable. My system was very acid. When I was finally diagnosed I took something called fungistatin (ask Vitamin Cottage what they recommend) and immediately stopped eating: sugar, breads, pasta, corn, shellfish, strawberries, alcohol, processed foods, candy. Candida is basically a yeast infection so you have to stop feeding it. I also got some liquid acidophilus (Vitamin Cottage - brown bottle in the refrigerated section) and took a spoonful a couple of times a day. Within three days I had relief but it took a month for it to completely go away. You have to watch what you eat. Lots of veggies, salads and lean meat.
Good luck,
Dee

Candida that is thrush related including your baby? (diaper rash, coming off and on the breast, itchy or burning nipples, etc.) If it's related to breastfeeding, there are a few treatments. It is controlable, but needs to be treated aggressively. I'd be happy to explore it with you more if your question is about you and your baby.

We all have Candidas in our bodies. The only time we have trouble is when it becomes an overgrowth. There is a great diet to regulate this. NO YEAST, SUGAR, CARBS things that can be converted to sugar that the yeast feeds off of. Also probiotics to regulate your flora. ANd you can get great remedies at WHole foods, Sunflower etc. for it.

Just make sure it isn't something else for me I thought it was Candida issues when it was really thyroid. Hope this helps! G

LOTS and LOTS (years) of personal experience. I recommend a hair mineral analysis to really see what's going on in the body in terms of imbalance. My husband, an acupuncturist, and I just did this and are finding great answers that we didn't know before as to why I have had such issues with Candida. We are working with a team that has over 30 years of experience and would be happy to help you if you would like to get in touch with me. ____@____.com

My husband has dealt with this with his Crohn's disease.

It is very helpful. An herb I've given him that has worked well is Taheebo, look for it at any herbal shop. He puts 3 dropperfuls in a glass of water.

If I could afford it, I would get a Vitamix - it's about $600, it's a very powerful blender that can cook a soup just with the friction of the blades. It comes with a recipe book that would be wonderful for someone on this diet. Either way, we do lots of smoothies with fruit and raw nuts, salads with nonsugary dressing and basically try to keep bread out of his diet. That was the biggest factor, those carbs. Kefir yogurt smoothies were good too.

One more thing is to wash your skin and your hair with apple cider vinegar or beer. Best of luck!

Yes, lots - myself and my babies (mouth - thrush - and diaper rash - it's different than normal diaper rash). What's your question?

I just got through with the worst yeast infection that I have ever had. I took diflucan from the doctor and it did not help at all. I went to the health food store and got Candex and probiotics. I also eat a container of Activia yogurt every day and it also contains a different probiotic. It took me about 6 weeks or two months to get rid of it but it worked. We all have candida growing in our body and eliminating sugar and white flour helps so much.

Try taking probiotics and prebiotics it should eliminate the problem and get your 'system' back to normal. Too much yeast/ bad bacteria in the body can cause more symptoms than just the well known vaginal yeast infection so introducing good bacteria should help with digestion, fatigue and many other 'issues' you may not even notice.
