Can You Recommend a Soft Baby Bedding Brand?
Mmkay, so we started registering for baby stuff, and I'm trying to find a soft crib bedding set that includes a fitted sheet, 2 valances, and maybe a dust ruffle, mobile, and quilt. Every single bedding set in Babies R Us was scratchy and cheap feeling! Can anyone recommend a bedding brand that is soft and high quality? We'd like a neutral modern pattern, probably with mod-style animals on it, and we'd prefer contrasting colors like green and brown or primary colors, not all pastels. Thanks!
So What Happened?™
Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll check out Pottery Barn and see if I can buy things a la carte, otherwise I may just buy some used crib sheets and find valances and a mobile elsewhere.

I too was going to suggest PB. I LOVE their bedding. It is sooooo high quality. You can get great deals at the outlet in Birch Run. They make a really soft crib sheet-- it is almost like a blanket and my daughter loves it!

Congratulations on your baby! I remember registering at Babies R Us. I also remember not getting very much of what I registered for but alot of what I needed. In addition to having mattress pads under the sheet, I also put sheet savers over the sheet - a row of three that overlapped. If baby blows out their diaper then you just change the sheet saver. If baby throws up over everything then you pull up the sheet with one mattress pad with everything rolled up inside (yeah, ew-but it is probably three am so we are looking for quick here) and put down a new sheet and sheet savers. Sheet savers work as really good changing pads in the diaper bag and they are bigger than what usually comes with the bag. But, that is more information than what you asked for. And, yes, washing all the bedding will make it softer as they do really starch everything so that it holds its shape in the packaging. Also, the best crib mobiles are the ones that are sold separately. Good luck on your journey!

Most new bedding will feel scratchy until it has been washed. It's how they make it look crisp and unwrinkled in the packaging. After you purchase your bedding you will want to pre-wash in a low chemical detergent (like Dreft) to get it ready for baby. Hope this helps!

I would try potterybarn kids. We have gotten both of our bedding sets from there are very happy with it. Kohls has some good stuff too.

Theres a new baby store that opened up at Schoehnerr and m-59 called Buy Buy Baby. They may have what your looking for. To be honest there all crunchy until you wash them. Its the material and stuffing the way you make them soft is by fabric softner liquid. Not sheets that go in the drier. Or you make it yourself.Good Luck! Congradulations on your first baby!

Even the high quality ones are going to feel scratchy until you wash them. They stiffen them up in the packaging so they look nice and don't get wrinkly.
