Hello Ladies! I'm looking for a good, christian counselor around the Woodlands area! A little about me...after being married 7 years, the douche got the Itch and probably an STD (crude humor). Leaving me and a 2 yr old with no place to go...he kept the house. Anyhow, finding out he's back in "love" with the girl he was with before he married me is such a slap in my face. I thought I was over him and could move on, but I'm finding myself backtracking instead of moving forward. Has anyone dealt with a situation like this?? Not to mention I have the worst ex-in-laws a gal could ask for! Monster-in-law along with a Sister that I think has a thing for her brother YUCK! Sick...but, they are robbing me of my happiness and are a constant thorn in my side. I would like to try a female therapist...my last therapist was a man, and good...until he hit on me and front-hugged me until I thought he was gonna plant one on me! Needless to say, maybe a woman won't be so quick to touch my leg!! I'm trying to move forward for myself and my baby girl, so any suggestions would be wonderful. I have mediocre health insurance, so if there's a "free" therapist that's willing to take on a quack like me, it would be wonderful!! Thanks for all your help!

What can I do next?

Grace Point counseling center is a Christian counseling center through Woodlands United Methodist Church. I've heard two of their counselors give presentations and was impressed.

Sorry you are going through this .. have you thought about going to the Fellowship of the Woodlands and checking out their divorce recovery class?

Another suggestion for a counselor is Angela Bartlett who is based in the Woodlands.

Best of luck!

You need to be prepared to work at it. Remember to look forward
and not backward. Yesterday is yesterday and you can't change it. Make today count. Dwell on the good things like your child.
Tell yourself that you will enjoy your new job and do your best at it. Don't even waste your time thinking about all of the EX in-laws. You can only be hurt by what you allow to hurt you. Spend time with positive people - those who will lift you up, not those who will help you rehash the past. Forgive him as quickly as you can because unforgiveness is something that will eat at YOU. You don't have to agree with what he has done to forgive him. But, it will allow you to rebuild your life. Get going! You can do it! Look at all of those who have!

So sorry you are having to go through all this. I would definitely check with the local churches for a referral. I see someone else recommend the Woodlands United Methodist, it's a great organization and they are usually very helpful. Also check with Interfaith, my husband has been seeing a conselor there, and he's great. One more thing, please file a complaint about the other conselor, he definitely crossed the line with his unethical behavior.
Good luck!
