It could be... it would be early, but not unheard of... but drooling isn't always about teeth.

It could also just be drooling. She's 9 weeks old, she's still just getting the hang of her body. There were some stages in my son's infancy when he had to wear a bib just to catch the drool.

The drooling may not be related to teething, but yes, it can happen. My friends' daughter got her first teeth at 2 months! She is going to be 5 at the end of May and has already lost those first 2 baby teeth and has had her first adult teeth come in!

As for my daughter, she drooled a lot as a baby. It was just drool.

One of they guys at works baby had a tooth when she was born... they all get them at different times. My 4 yr old is currently getting his 6 yr molers... dentist was suprised, then looked at his cart and saw he always gets his early.

Also babies do seem to drool a lot... my 14 week old has been drooling a lot as well. I don't know if they are able to swallow all the drool they produce & it just seems to over flow.

Kaydon:

Yes. The drooling can start that early. Her body might be preparing itself for it already.

Find out when your teeth and your husband's teeth came in - it will be a good indicator on when hers will come in. It's not an exact science, but it does give indications on when it might happen.

Yes, she could be teething. All 4 of my children started teething early and had 2 teeth by the time they were 4 and 5 months old. So, by the time they were 1 they had all their baby teeth. :)

Drooling at that age could also mean ear or throat aches. It very well could be teething but wanted you to be aware of other possibilities. I had a friend whose baby was born with his first tooth already through.

Yes! My son cut his two front bottom teeth just before he turned 3 months. If you're nursing, you can imagine the added challenges this brings...there are ways to get through this and continue to nurse, if this is what is going on with you.
PS -Everyone dismissed my concerns (I was a first time mom) until those teeth appeared...I used to wet a cloth, roll it up and put in the freezer. I would hold it to his mouth and my newborn would chew on those and his whole body would start to relax.

My son was the SAME age when he started becoming super drooly. His grandma even nicknamed him "juicy" because it was so bad, and still is lol. However, he didn't get a single tooth until he was 8-9 months old. He was walking when his first tooth came in! lol Some babies are just extra drooly :)

Yes!! My son had FOUR teeth by 4 months!! He went on to have his 2 year molars months and months before two. He teethed early and strong, all his teeth came in sets of four.

Sometimes, babies just drool! She could be teething, but she could also just be a drooly baby :)

My second got her first tooth at two months, didn't get another until she was 10 months. So yeah, it is possible.

My daughter started at two months and didn't cut a tooth until 5 months. My ped said to find a good solid teether and let her go at it. I used a Razberry from toys'r'us. She loved that thing and anytime she starts teething a new tooth she goes for that thing and will naw and naw and naw on it. It was a life saver. I also think this is what made her not prefer binkys so if you want your daughter to keep with a binky I might not introduce this one. But it helped us tons! My daughter is now 14 months will 11 teeth working on number 12.

yes. my son began teething very early, and once he got one tooth at about 11 weeks by the next week he had four of them. So he had two top front teeth and two bottom front teeth by 12 weeks.

Oh, yeah, most all the babies in our family were early teethers, my son had 7 teeth by 6 months and when i asked his pediatrician he said each child is different and it was perfectly fine... just means they will probably lose their baby teeth earlier than the kids who teethed later.
