Can Anyone Recommend Pediatric Dentist in Cincinnati Area?

I live in west chester, oh. Although we have a pediatric dentist, we want to search another one for second opinion. Our current dentist is not bad, but she won't alow parents with other kids around when she is working on my 4 1/2 son's teeth. It makes me uncomfortable. I need to know what they are doing with my son's teeth. How can a 4 years old boy express himself without mom? On the other hand, I got some disagreement with my son's dentist. So if you live in cincinnati area, you got some pediatric dentist you think is good, can you recommend one for me. Thanks.

What can I do next?

hi. my 3 year old just went to see Dr. Wendt for the first time today at University Pointe in West Chester across from the Voice of America. He is a pediatric dentist only and there is another dentist there solely for adults. My neighbor HIGHLY recommended him and we thought we was great. My husband and I were both back there and he even let me sit in the chair with her in my lap so she wouldn't be scared. He told her that her knee was "the button" to push the chair up and down. There was a DVD player there and she got a bag of goodies plus a toy to take home. They are very friendly, and I hear that if you really want a good experience, to get Anna as your hygenist.

At 4 1/2 he really doesn't need a pediatric dentist (assuming he has healthy teeth and does not need any special treatments). Just find a general dentist you like and then you can stick with him/her until he goes off to college! Our dentist not only allows me to go back, but the siblings can go too, as long as they stay out of the way.

I'm curious... who do you currently see? We just moved to Cincinnati and I have made an appointment with Smiles 4 Kids in Springdale.

I like the idea of a pediatric dentist because they have done a residency beyond dental school working specially with children. Is it NECESSARY ... of course not. But I see it similar to taking your child to a pediatrician vs. a general family doctor.

There is also another Pediatric dentist in Springdale... on Ray Nourish Drive. I don't know anything about him though.

It may be a bit of a drive but we are very fond of Dr. David Oliver near Beechmont. The whole staff is so good with kids and I always go back with both of my kids. My daughter and I were able to sit there when my son got a filling-he could see us, they gave him a stuffed animal to hold (which he petted the whole time), and the assistant talked to him about "boy things" the whole time. They are all so relaxed and welcoming there. They also have a "two story playhouse" in the waiting room and each child gets a balloon animal when they leave. My pediatrician takes all 6 of his kids there.
