There is a lot to try out there. What works for someone else, may not work for you, and you may have to experiment.
I've had luck in the past with flaxseed oil supplements. I also had luck with B6. It gave me more energy and focus.
I have recently had huge success with a product called Nutrizac. I've been giving it to my son who has special needs and suffers from anxiety. You can find it at healthfood stores or online(less expensive). It is mainly St.John's wort with some extra herbs. Good luck with whatever you try.

I also struggled with this. The only thing that helps me is minimizing stress (when possible) and cardio kickboxing. I love it. I can't stress this enough that excercise is key. I have a friend that tries to deal with this in other ways but absolutely won't get moving no matter what I say but I really think that is key.

Good luck.

Be sure you are getting all your Vit B's. B12, even for meat eaters, is hard to get. Get the sublingual tablets--available at Walmart for a reasonable price. What are you listening to? Chaotic surroundings don't help. Are you getting enough sleep? Meditation is good. Are you getting any exercise? 30 minutes a day of just walking will make a big difference! Lower your sugar intake; do you drink a lot of soda/coffee? Are you a smoker? If you feel you are doing your best to lower your stress, see your Doctor. Many medications can get you back on track w/o a lifetime of drugs.

H. B,
Have you tried drinking chamomile tea? I like Sleepy Time tea, I think Bigalow makes it, not sure. I have this to help me calm down when I have had a stressful day and if I need a little calm down time to help me relax enough to sleep at bedtime. Hope this works for you.

You could try Bach's flower essence remedies. This brand has many flower essences for all types of things but the Rescue remedy does wonders for anxiety. My sister uses it for flying and for everyday since she is off of her anti-anxiety pills, I used it during a very tramatic time in my life. I wish you the best in finding something that works for you. You can usually find them in a natural food and health store or on-line. There is also a book to help you find the best essece for what you need.

yes, there are plenty of natural remedies for this. However, it is finding the one that works best for you that may take some time. Folic acid is one, also combining calcium and magnesium, and some have found relief in a product vitamin called sam-e. If it is occasional and mild try chamomile tea or kava kava tea. Seek out your local health food store they should have books to help with dosage and also the internet if you key word natural remedies anxiety.
Hope this helps. If you want more info feel free to email me back.

There are teas that have catnip and chamomile in them that are helpful. Bach Rescue Remedy and Calms Forte' are homeopathic possibilities.
Learning self-hypnosis and doing yoga both give you tools. If you are in the Fond du Lac area, there are wonderful yoga classes from beginners to advanced at the Fond du Lac Center for Spirituality and Healing, and I also hold hypnosis sessions there. Information on hypnosis can be found on my website: www.kimwildner.com. My area of focus is hypnosis for pregnancy and birth, specifically HypnoBirthing, but I am trained to use it for a number of other applications as well, including stress.
Also, there is a game that can help if you play it on a regular basis. It's a biofeedback game called Journey to the Wild Divine and you can learn about it here: www.wilddivine.com
Good luck!

I too suffer from anxiety (as well as depression) and tried several remedies, both homeopathic and prescription. I have found the best so far for anxiety is a supplement call 5-HTP, (Hydroxy-Tryptophan). You can find a great deal of info on the internet or at a health food store. In addition, Mindfulness (research John Kabot-Zinn) and exercise also helps.

Exercise is key, and a healthful diet free of unnecessary sugars and caffeine. Supplements to try would be Kava Kava, or chamomile. Be sure to reduce excessive stimulation such as TV, especially before bed. Try reading encouraging and inspirational stories instead of TV and start keeping a journal.

I would recommend valerian (not valerian root - thats for sleeping). and green tea. also you can often buy tea at natural food stores like harvest health that are formulated with specific herbs to ease anxiety. i think passion fruit works as well.
