Camden or Cameron?
For a girl. Which would you prefer and why?
Her surname would be Kerr if that makes any difference, and i'd love to hear if anyone has any suggestions of names that have "Cam" as a nickname!

Cameron is ok but it's really a boy's name. DON'T pick Camden, please. Camden is the WORST city in NJ. It's a beep-hole, crime ridden, mess. Camille is a gorgeous name is you want to call her Cam.

Cami, Camille, Camilla (ok, love the flower, not so crazy about the royal, lol, but it is a pretty name!)
I also love Carmella, Carmi, Carly.
I think both Camden and Cameron are pretty masculine but that's just my opinion :)

I have a boy named Camden, and love it! I would have used it for a girl as well.
Camden, NJ is not the only city by that name. There is a very "southern" city in SC by the name and it is quite charming. :)
My husband and I don't do nicknames, so I can't help you there. Congrats and either name is beautiful!

Cameron is a boys name and the surname of the British Prime Minister and Camden is a neighbourhood in London, England and combined with Kerr they sound like Camker which sounds like canker - a skin disease so I would avoid that if I was you!!
If you really want a C name how about Camille or Camilla or even Carmel, Carmillia or Cleo Amy Mary (CAM). My son is Casper Charlie and he gets called CC as his nickname so you could go this route and pick the first letter as the nickname........Congrats on your new arrival!!

I like Camden :) and as far as it being a city name alot of cute names are cities! Like Brooklyn, Charlotte( which btw I lived here and it's CRAPPY) London just to name a few. I think the name is so cute and people just like to point out the negative about names....

I vote for Camden - I know there are girls named Cameron, but it registers as a boy's name with me.
What about Camille or Camellia?

I absolutely love those names and know close friends and family that used them for girls but they feminized them a little. Camryn...Cameran and the other is spelled Kamdyn. I think both are awesome!!! They are all called Cammie/Kami for short.
Good luck and best wishes!!

I know a "Camie"....that's her birth name, not a nickname. Said with a long "a".
It's a beautiful name & works well with Kerr.
Not much on masculine names for girls....sorry! It makes life very hard for the boys....

Personally I think they both sound boy-ish. But if I were to choose, I'd say Cameron and spell it Cameryn. Nickname Cam, Cammi.

Camden is a place. It isn't a name for people, if you ask me. Cameron is a boys name. In short, I don't like either.
In fact, I think it's funny how many boys names end up as girl's names in American. Ruari (Rory) means red kind in Gaelic. Yet, in America, we give the name Rory to girls.

I think Camden is a boys name. I have known girls be to named Cameron, but not with that spelling. If you go that route, I would suggest changing the spelling. I had a student named Kamryn once, she was a girl.
Otherwise I think Camille is nice. Or I had a friend named Camie, she pronounced it "kay-mee" but I noticed folks sometimes called her Cam for short.

My son is named Cameron. Camden is also a boy name. Please don't choose one of those names unless you want your daughter to spend her entire life clarifying that she is a girl! How about Camilla or Cameri or Cambrie?

When I saw the subject line, I thought they were boy name suggestions. I was going to say "Camden" for a boy b/c Cameron could go either way. So IMO - a girl would be Cameron.
