Cake Pop Makers

yup. may daughter wanted it for christmas. It does the job. a box of cake mix will make about 4 dozen give or take. I though it would be like 100 so the first time I made 12 cupcakes and the rest pops and the rest only made 24 pops. Because you do not make them like traditional cake pops it is uber important to freeze them a bit before you dip them. But we have done some fun things. anytime we have "batter" we try it in the pop maker. so we have done "banana muffins" and "pancakes" in the cake pop maker. really fun. It only makes 12 at a time BUT they are DONE in 6 minutes so its pretty quick.

I just have the pan one where you pour batter in one side, clip the lid together and it puffs into a ball. It worked well and they tasted good. I got mine as a gift.

If you want to do cake pops for a party, go the easy route! Just use donut holes! Put a stick in them and dip them in melted baking chips and decorate. I personally think that is easier than buying a machine/pan.

I don't own one... but my cake pops are out of this world! Easy-Peasey: Make a batch of any brownie recipe. While warm, scoop out the brownies & shape into balls. Put pop sticks into balls and freeze for 30 min - 1 hour. Take out, dip in chocolate and decorate: ta-da!

I gave my daughter one for Christmas. It's the Bella brand one from Macy's, around $20-25. It works great but it is FAST so you need to watch it :-)

I have one that I bought at Kohls but I found they were too soft for me to handle. I prefer to make cakepops like Bakerella. It takes longer but turn out so cute and they are tastey!

I made "cheater" cake pops with store bought donut holes (there is a discount bakery where they are cheap near my house) and melted chocolate. I used Wilton's melting wafers which are white chocolate (processed without nuts) and it comes in many different colors. You can buy it at many craft stores and possibly big box stores as well. Put the donut holes on the sticks, dip in melted chocolate, throw on sprinkles before the chocolate cools, put on wax paper until totally cooled, then peel off the wax paper and wrap in plastic wrap or in a cute treat bag with a twist tie. My kids loved them! My Sunday School class loved them! The parents of my Sunday School class thought I had gone to lots of trouble when really it was very easy! I also tired a version with chocolate covered donut holes and I just dipped them halfway into the colored chocolate so they had a two-toned look. They were good too, but my kids prefered the glazed donut hole cake pops.

we have one and it is easy but very time consuming. Ours makes 6 at a time, takes about 5 minutes to cook ... so if you're cooking lots, prepare to take all day.
I have not gotten good at frosting them. using regular frosting didn't work well; dipping them works but it wasn't exactly pretty!
what we end up doing many times is using chocolate chips in the batter. that way they taste sweet, have the chocolate, but no mess and time of frosting them.

We love ours. Ours holds 12, you pour the batter in, shut the lid, flip it over like a fancy waffle maker, and they come out perfect in about 3 minutes. We learned it helps if you dip the stick in the melted almond bark/candy chips/choc chips, then put on the cake pop and freeze. It helps the ball stay on the stick. It also hardens faster when you dip the cake pop and decorate. It's messy, but a lot of fun!!

I have seen them but I would not use one because they are not real cake poppers. Real cake poppers are a mix of cake and frosting you squish into balls and coat with dip. The makers simply make cake in the shape of a ball.

We have the mini cupcake maker and I love it! It cooks so quickly so is perfect for little impatient ones. We got it as a gift and thought I would never use it but the kids love it. You will definitely use it again with kids too!
