I think what you need to focus on is finding the best OB for you as well as the best hospital for you. Any Dr who delivers and is good at it, will do an excellent job with c-s as well as vaginal deliveries. Find a Dr who provides you with excellent ongoing care and you'll be good. It's not like there are Drs that advertise doing c-s only. Given the higher risks for complications, costs and longer recovery time associated w/c-s, you're just not going to find that unless there's a legitimate medical need. I can't tell if this is your first, or if there's a medical reason for having a c-s in your case. There may very well be. I had a c-s with my son, and used Dr Brothers. She was excellent.

I use and absolutely love Dr. Greve in Mansfield and Arlington. He's with the Matlock OBGYN group. He did a CSection on me and I had no problems. Excellent Hopsital and excellent staff in his office. I do not know if he does elective c sections but from what I understand nowadays I believe a woman now has the option to choose a c section if they want it. I have an alomost 4 year old daughter that I delivered vaginally and I have an almost 2 year old daughter who was born by the c section route. She was supposed to be a BIG baby and Dr. Greve was concerned about Shoulder Distocia so he wanted to do a c section. My little sweetie weighed in at 7 lbs. even so I could have delivered her just fine vaginally and I would have because my first labor and delivery was actually a breeze. But it did turn out that her umbilical cord was wrapped several times around her neck. So we were happy with our choice to do a c section after all. However, looking back on it now I do wish I delivered her vaginally because it was truly such an incredible experience. I felt like such a powerful woman when I popped my first daughter out. It was actually something truly incredible instead of scary or painful to me.

I hope you find a doctor who will honor your decision to have a c section. You do deserve to have the birth experience you desire. But please think about delivering vaginally as well because I think you will be so proud of yourself when you are through. And once your baby is in your arms you will be so happy you will forget what just happened.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

Try Dr Todd Ruk at Dallas and Plano Medical Center. He has performed all 3 of my C-setions (2 elective) and he has been great.

I go to Dr. Greg Chapman at Health Central Women's and he will do a c-section if necessary and his staff is very nice.
