I need to buy a vehicle, but I am wary about where to go. Carmax has been reccommended, but I don't know if they will work with my credit (under 600). Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went to Mr. Bill Motor Company with my 3000.00 Air Check Texas voucher. I got a Chevy Uplander for just under 300.00 a month. They were fantastic. They also offer free oil changes. Great experience. If you go, talk to Steve.

no suggestions on where to buy, just consider the cost of gas on a used suv. the gas prices we see today will not last. consider the mpg you'll get and how many you drive a month.

My daughter has used Carmax and loved them. On the other hand, I have to question the reason for buying an SUV (gas guzzler), when there are only three in the family.

Carmax helped me and my score was that low and I was 14 months outside of bankruptcy.that was 3 years ago but I went there recently and was denied but my current lender offered me a deal so I was prepared going in there. I can recommend carmax in plano and talk to brian beard. He is very nice and not pushy. He calls when you call him. I don't like to be be pushed or pressured into anything. Give them a try or try to apply online with capital one they have a good credit program and a slightly damaged one called roadloans. Good luck let me know what happens.

My credit isn't good either and we bought a Dodge Durango about a year ago from Bankston Nissan. It's been the perfect vehicle and when we bought a used SUV with many miles on it, we were scepticle. Anyway, I don't know what it will be like trying to get credit now that things are a little tougher than they were this time last year. I don't know what kind of a toll that's taken on the used car industry, but it's worth a shot. Good luck!

I am not sure what your price range is...
My mom (54 years old sweet women)is selling her Mitsubishi Montero Sport
it is a bit older 1997 but in good shape.
She has taken care of the car, it is inspected, registered and ready to go. Great tires, red in color, cold ac warm heat etc...170k, 4 door-
i dont know a lot about cars but this is her description
She was originally asking 5400$ because she is trying to put a down payment on a little house she found, then she lowered it to $4700 bc they worked with her on the deposit needed.....

Save your money, gas and carbon footprint by considering a hybrid or four passenger car. You can find good deals on eBay or, better yet, dallas.craigslist.org.

Carmax has a huge inventory and they will transfer cars from lot to lot for free in most cases, the credit may be an issue, but if you have a down payment, the bigger the better they will probably work with you. Also if you have a trade in that you are going to use, look it up on KBB.com and take the lowest to middle value on the condition and that is close to what they give you. The Carmax by the old Cowboys Stadium has a huge selections. Check them out on line. But beware...you can not look alone there, as soon as you walk in the door they are there, and you can not even get near the car inventory without going through the building. That is why I suggested do your browsing on line. Good luck to you....OH YEAH...what does it matter if you you are a family of 3 driving a gas gussling SUV??? We are a family of 3 and have an SUV & a Pick Up Truck...but wait there are things we do that require the bigger gas gussling vehiles!!! Good luck with your shopping

Try DriveTime. I went to the one in Fort Worth, on Riverside and 121. The payment is a little higher than I would like, but still manageable. My credit is terrible, but they report payments to the credit companies and it will help improve my credit. If you go in tell them I sent you. I'll get some credit on my account!
