The metal ones are cheapest - around $100, but I've seen used ones in P. Saver for like $50. Sam's club sells bunk bed mattresses (lower quality than an adult would prefer) for $98.

Costco usually has inexspenive ones. Perhaps the P. saver too.

Try Craigslist or Freecycle. You have to sign up for Freecycle-it's a yahoo group-but it's a great way to give and get free stuff!
