I play regularly in two Bunco groups (so 2x/month) and I love it!!! We usually have two small dishes on each table one with a salty treat, one with a sweet. My one group has the hostess prepare a full meal for all twelve women while my other group strictly has appetizers. Every group is different, my appetizer one has themes while the dinner one does not. For appetizers you can have chips and salsa, fresh fruit, veggies w/dip. The most important thing is alcohol. Kidding (kinda ; ) ) Seriously, everyone will have fun since Bunco is really a social game.

I coordinated our bunco group and like the other moms said, each group is different. But.... if you want to have some real fun, this is what we did. We had 12 moms, each one picked their month, that was always their month every year. (We are going on 6 years now.) Each month we had a theme. Halloween for October, so we all came in costume, St Patrick's day in March, so everything was green, etc. December was at my house and it was a Christmas party and everyone including all subs came etc. Since we hosted only once a year, the host was in charge of dinner, (lasagna, taco's etc.) and everyone would bring a side dish, appetizer, dessert, etc.

I set the whole thing up on Evite, so we would know who was coming and what they were bringing. We loved our night out every month so we would make a night of it. Dinner and social hour was at 7pm and then we would start playing at 8pm. We did it typically the 2nd Friday of the month, so we could stay up a little later & not worry about kids, homework, etc. We would usually end around 11pm.

Such fun!

I'm officially an alternate (played once so far! lol) but the hostess had everyone bring something and the biggest hit was the chocolate fondue. With pineapple, pretzels, marshmallows, strawberries, banana chunks, etc.
She provided all of the drinks: wine, beer, iced tea....
She also had a 7 layer dip and some sort of artichoke finger food.
Oh--what about bruschetta? That's always a hit.

I play once a month with about 12 ladies. Each month one of us host and another one of us brings dessert. The hostess is responsible for providing munchies and drinks which includes wine (of course!), juice, soda, water, etc.... The munchies include fruit, salad, chips and salsa, mini queshe, veggies, etc.... The hostess will also put little munchies on the game tables such as m & m's, nuts, skittles, etc... Have fun!!

I was invited to Bunco. It was a group of well to do moms that get together, alternating locations. Since it is a travelling game and hosted at a differant house each month, the ladies really try to outdo each other. The one I went to was catered. There were tons of little canapes and mini desserts. Cucmber finger sandwhices and white wine. It was fun, but I never went back.
