Bug Spray - Scottsdale,AZ
We will be heading to the mountains and I want to be prepared with bug spray. I hadn't thought about it until now and used to use Skin so Soft. We fly on Wednesday so getting the Skin So Soft ordered will not be practical. What do others use for their kids? My kids are 4 and 21 months. Should I go for a deet free type since they are younger? I have heard many of them stink too. I am not even sure if it will be an issue, but I want to be prepared and not sorry later! My poor daughter swells up from simple gnat bites! I can't imagine how annoying a mosquito bite will be to her.

I like using "Swy Flotter" by Kiss My Face. I've found it at Sprouts and Sunflower Market. I think Whole Foods has it too.
Have fun in the mountains!

We've used the Repel lemon eucalyptus and it works great! It does smell like lemon but rather that than some of the other alternatives. The ones with picaridin aren't as harmful as the DEET. DEET is only ok if it's just sprayed onto fabrics, never onto skin is it safe.

We love "Bite Blocker." It is deet-free and smells much better than other natural repellents that we've tried. It works, too! It's the neem oil that stinks - it's better masked in this product than some. If you ask me, Off! stinks, too! I just would not put deet on my little ones. I ordered mine online, but have read that Whole Foods carries it now.
Have a great time in the mountains! :)

Hi.
I am not sure where you live but Sunflower supermarket in Tucson carrys a bug cream by Badger that is deet free and has worked well for us. I like it because it smells nice too and I don't have to worry about putting it on my daughter.

I can't remember the name, but a few years ago I got this stuff at whole foods that was a wipe on bug repellant. I don't know if it would work well for an onslaught of bugs, but it is worth a try and very natural. It would be in the bug repellant area.
