Budget Friendly Hotel in Orlando for 5 - Wheeling,IL
Can anyone recommend a budget friendly hotel near Orlando that will accomodate 5? My original plan fell apart and now I am stuck trying to find a hotel. I have searched several sites and all say I can only have 4 people in a room and would have to get a second room or the prices I am getting are too high. I am so stressed about it and time is ticking away. I'd appreciate any advice.

I use Priceline. It lets you pick the area of Orlando you want to stay in. I just got a 3 1/2 star room for 45 bucks in Orlando.
You don't get to pick the hotel, but the area and the star rating. You are almost guaranteed a good room at a good rate. :)

Check the condo and house rentals in the Orlando and Kissimmee areas. They are usually the same price (some are less) than the surrounding hotels because they need the business.
Most range around $100 or so per night. We used to go through Villas Direct before we bought our house and moved here.

We are going to Orlando in October. We are renting a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a pool for $89 a night for 7 nights.

you can also go to vacation rentals by owner; there are TONS in florida and that way you can also get a pool if you want, and you'd have a kitchen also (not to mention having your own space). we went a couple of years ago and got one for $640 for the entire week. go to vrbo.com and take a look :)

If there are 2 beds and a pull out couch you can fit into 1 room - just don't let anyone know you are more than 4 people.

We always stay in timeshares when we travel as a family. Most timeshare resorts also "rent" units like regular hotels do. You get more of an apartment style with a full kitchen so you can hit the grocery store on your way in and save a lot by avoiding eating out.
Also, I just got a Hot Deals email from MouseSavers. There's a deal for Buena Vista Suites which has 1 bedroom suites, free breakfast and transportation to Disney Parks. 2 Queen Suites sleep up to 6 as long as only 4 are adults. Depending on WHEN you're booking the deal is for 89$ - $109 per night. I'll PM you with the link and/or reservation code (they don't like you to share on public forums).

We stayed at reunion resort in a beautiful 3BR condo for the price of a hotel room. It is off Disney property but is only a 10 minute drive to DIsney. They have lots of pools and activities you can enjoy when taking a break from "Disney". It was perfect for us. It helped that everyone got good rest to be able to enjoy the busy, fun filled days. Good luck.
