Is there any Mom's out there that has a home cure or any other way to speed up getting rid of a bruise? I have a black eye because my son jumped in my lap and his head hit my eye! Just thought that I would ask just in case. Thanks in advance! :)

What can I do next?

Arnica, ibuprofen, cold/ice, & makeup.

(The whole meat thing, was because people used to keep all their meats frozen... ice was precious... but meat could be cooked for dinner.). I've found a bag of frozen peas works fabulously for following facial and other body contours. Just make sure to have something inbetween the bag and your skin... like a paper towel or tea towel.

Dear C.,
I hope you get some great suggestions!
I'll never forget when I went for a gyno appointment and my doctor had a black eye. The white of her eye was completely blood red and swollen. She acted like it was nothing and asked me how I was doing and I said I thought SHE was the one who needed medical treatment.

She just shrugged and said, "I'm okay. My little kid just hit me in the eye."
It was an accident. He jumped up and bonked her with his head.
It happens.
I heard putting a spoon in the freezer and placing the rounded edge on your eye will help. That or an ice pack. The bruising just needs to dissipate.

Best wishes!

Same, Arnica, but I used to be able to find it in little dots that dissolved under your tongue. Don't know how much it helped, but couldn't hurt.

Hello C.,

I use lavender oil and helps heal bruises really fast. just be careful not to get it in your eyes. I carry a bottle of lavender oil with me all the time. when the kids fall, get bumps and bruises, cuts, etc. in fact, a few weeks ago my son fell face first while playing basketball, I put on lavender oil and iced the bruise. everyone thought he'd end up w/ a black eye... the lavender oil did the trick! it's safe enough to put directly on the skin. ~C.~

I think sunlight is good for bruises. My grandpa used to put a raw steak on his eye if he ever got a black eye. I'm not sure if it helps or not, but he used to swear by it. Good Luck!!

Arnica gel/cream.
You can get it at Whole Foods or any natural food/health store.

There is a product called Arnica that you can get at any natural food store, Whole Foods, Central Market, etc. I wouldn't get it too close to your eyes, but it will help eliminate that bruise quicker...
