Britax Vs. Recaro Car Seats

Hi Moms...My 10 1/2 month old son is tipping the scales at 21 pounds and ready to move out of his infant car seat. I had planned on getting the Britax Marathon, but saw the Recaro Signo and was equally impressed. I'm looking for solid construction, excellent side impact protection, and comfort for an active, growing boy (we're always on the go and traveling about). What would you recommend? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We decided to go with the Recaro. They just seem so sturdy and I like the extra side-impact protection. We got the convertible seat (Como) for my car, which he rides in the most, and will keep him rear-facing as long as possible. We also got the front-facing Young Sport for my husband's car, which he only rides in on the weekends. Thanks for your help and advice. As always...Mamas Rock!

ADDITIONAL UPDATE:
The Recaro Como is very nice, although it is big. We bought the Recaro Young Sport for my husband's car and it is wonderful. We plan on getting another for Grandma's car too. My son is very comfortable, but secure. Yes, the Recaro's are pricey, but they also go to 80lbs. My son will be in it for a long time. Thanks again for your help.

Pretty cool website to compare and research seats--

According to the specs, the Recaro is a little taller and much wider, so I guess that means if you think your boy will need the room, that can be a great benefit.

My mom just bought a Recaro Como for her car for my daughter's use and it is very cushy and looks great for side impact protection. The foam is thick all around. My 13 month old liked sitting in it (even though it was still in the living room!). I don't know what the differences are btwn Como and Signo, but my mom got a phenomenal deal on hers b/c they are closing out that model.

I don't know anything about the Recaro seats, just wanted to chime in and say we own and use, (all by Britax) a Marathon, Roundabout and 2 Regents. We love them all.

Try going to Amazon.com
they carry these brands... and this way, you can read the "reviews" about it from other people and the "ratings."

Both brands are good.

Hope this will help,
Susan

Elite car seats is a great resource and here's another one too:

maybe these sites can help you choose. I have the Britax Regent and Boulevard and am happy with both.
